3 solid meals a day?

Ds has just become interested in eating twice a day, he is 9 months. When should he be eating three meals? I don't remember from my older kids, lol.

I think a lot depends on how many teeth he has. Mine didn't start doing it until he had enough teeth to actually be able to chew things. That happened at about 11 months. If he is eating twice a day already, you could probably add in one more meal easily.

I think it really depends on the baby. Mine was probably 18 months old before she ate 3 solid meals per day but she was late to start solids. I'd say most kids are probably ready by 9 mos - 1 year.

Under one - just for fun. Any solids that he is eating should be considered secondary to formula or breastmilk which should comprise a majority of his intake/calories

My 9 month old nurses first and then eats afterwards. She does each 3 times a day now, but we occassionally miss a "solids meal". Sometimes she just isn't all that interested in one of the meals each day. And sometimes, she eats a lot at every meal. But I know there's 9 month olds who are only interested in 1 meal a day. Just depends on your baby and you

He is still nursing 8-10 times a day with 1-2 times over night. Right now he gets breakfast and dinner. So if he isn't interested in lunch then I am assuming it isn't an issue right now. Thank you

My youngest will climb on the table and grab his brothers' food (), so I've started offering him something any time they eat. He still doesn't eat much, but it's kinda getting him in the food "rhythm."

Oops, he just turned one a week ago.

DS is 7 months and eats twice a day. I have tried 3 times a day, but he just isn't really interested in solids until lunch. And for dinner he cries for his food! He really enjoys eating solids for dinner. As long as your babe is still nursing a lot and gaining weight steadily I don't think you have to worry if he's not eating 3 times a day yet. ;D

My 8 month old dd still prefers nursing over everything. She gets 1 solid "meal" a day....usually dinner (about 2 of the Gerber 2nd food boxes). Sometimes we do lunch, but she isn't that much into eating solids yet. She just cut her first tooth yesterday.

(side note: we use traditional baby food and the occasional mashed up banana or mashed potatoes).

I let baby lead. She told me when she was ready for solid meals to replace liquid. She started with breakfast around 10-11months and then the other two after 12months.
