hi ladies! we just found out that we are expecting #3 next august. we are trying to use a midwife that's 'in network' so that we can pay $900 versus $6,000! here are the midwives that are in our network:
-DeFrancesco, Thedorah -Hirschi, Mary K. -Otunla, Mercy Titilola -Rigby, Deborah A. -Short, Dawn D. -Walker, Heather -Dossey, Melanie S. -Grimes, Katherine have you used any of these ladies personally or do you know anything about them at all? i have googled their names and found very little info. thanks!

I've never heard of any of these midwives. Sorry mama. Some of most popular or well known midwives in Houston will be found here.
http://houstonmidwives.org/ I'm using Jackie Griggs at bay area birth center in Pasadena.

They aren't homebirth midwives as far as I'm aware. Most of them are a part of Houston women's specialists hospital.
Eta: most carriers wont pay for homebirths - aetna specifically excludes it. I used Carol Schumacher and I her. She said UHC has paid her at out of network rate.Sent from my bed or on the move.

I haven't heard of them either, but I had my second at the Pearland birth center with Bernadette Oliver. You can call her and ask her price with your insurance. She's also now doing home births! http://www.pearlandbirthcenter.com/

I am using Nanci Stanley in NW Houston. She's also a personal friend of mine. I'm wondering if your list of in network midwives are hospital-births only. I've never heard of any of them but I can ask around.

Re: houston mamas that have used a midwife.....
Most of the ones you listed are with women's specialists and deliver at St. Lukes in the med center
