animals and being pregnant...

Just wondering if anyone's animals act different when you are prego or getting ready to deliver? The boys and I are at my mom's for the time being and they have a cat that is very anti-social but comes out and lays at my feet...the border collie dog will not leave me alone all of a sudden...it's just interesting and I'm wondering if it's a 'sign'

Re: animals and being pregnant...

We had a cat when I was pregnant with Michael, and I'd had her for 15 years. Everytime I sat down she would lay across my belly! Now we have a dog and he's much too big to do that, but he will lay his head on my belly when I sit down. He didn't do that before!

Animals just know. My sister's dachshund loooooooves babies, and he looooooves me, so when I was pregnant, he was all over me, and woe to any stranger that got anywhere near me. He wouldn't hurt a fly, but he sounds pretty ferocious.

When we had our dog during my pregnancy she was always with me. She would climb the furniture just so she could hop over my shoulder and lay there (she is a mini dachsund/jack russel mix) When I was having pains in the middle of the night she was right there with me. It's too cute

YES!
my cats would follow me around everywhere!!
i could even go to the bathroom without 1 of them at my feet.
but what was weird was the day I actually went into labor/delivered the cats would not come near me. I would go up to them and they would just run off

With my first my dog followed me around like crazy. He would lay on me all the time. He loved my babybump and was really put out when he got kicked in the head by DD.
