getting your period back

For all of you who are EBF when do you get your period back? For those of you who have had a baby before did you get it around the same time after every baby? I got mine back at 6 weeks last time. I am wondering if I should expect the same this time.

Re: getting your period back

With my oldest I EBF for 4 months and then didn't get it back for 18 months - had to use that "jump start" pill (don't remember what it was)

Then with my Son I thought we were good to go...but I apparently got preg at around 4 months - had Emma 13.5 months after Parker was born - so I guess I ovulated at around 4 months

I honestly can't remember with Emma -

This one - still no period and I am a-ok with it not showing up for a LONG time - don't want to get surprise pregnant either though.

ETA: I BF all the kids - started solids at around 6 months -

10 months after DS, he wasn't "EBF" at that point, but he was still nursing a lot.

Re: getting your period back

I dont remember with my oldest but he only nursed for 2 months.
With #2 I didnt get it back til 5 months after he quit nursing
with #3 I didnt get it back until he was over a yr...........but maybe I should mention I must have ovulated when he was about 3 months old cuz he got a lil brother for his 1st bday.
with #4 Im thinking I got it back around the time he was 4 or 5 months?

but with all my boys I got it back at different times so I dont think there is really any way to know though I do know some women get it back about the same time after each child. #5 is now 7 weeks and I havent started but ofcourse I cant get past all the spotting I keep having since Ive had her so maybe I wouldnt know if I did LOL!

Re: getting your period back

With my older son I went back to work at 4 months and pumped, and got my period back around 5 months (worked & pumped and nursed at home for another 7 months). I haven't gotten it yet with this little one, but I'm also on the mini pill.

Re: getting your period back

Well, I'm 5 weeks pp and still spotting. Just barely but I'm tired of wearing pads!

Anyway, I've only had one EBF baby before this one, and I got AF back at 9 months pp. This time lo is using a pacifier as well as BF so I except her even sooner.

Re: getting your period back

I got mine back with ds around 6 months or so, ebf maybe around when he started babyfood though. With dd I didnt really get mine back, I got an IUD at 2 months pp, and didnt get a period really until after I had it taken out at 11 months pp or so. She was still nursing and I was getting a period every 6 weeks or so till I got pregnant with the newbie. Not getting the IUD this time, so I expect it to appear around 6 months pp.... so 4 months or so?
