Bleeding re-started?

I'm sure this is normal but please set my mind at ease. My bleeding had stopped at 2 1/2 weeks pp and was just light spotting, etc. I had a transvaginal ultrasound to check if I passed all of the placenta fragments and about two hours later, started bleeding bright red again. I've been bleeding since, as if I was more like 1 1/2 weeks pp. That should be normal, right, considering the wand is somewhat invasive?

I loathe my doctor's office and hope to avoid calling them but I will if I have to.

Re: Bleeding re-started?

You might have no been totally done bleeding. With my second DD, the bleeding would stop then start again. The majority of it was for 2 weeks.
With my last kid, I bled for 6 weeks, but it was light and off and on.
Maybe the u/s triggered bleeding again, but I think you might just be having a little more blood.

Sometimes pools form as the uterus contracts until it contracts enough to dump them. As long as it's like your other postpartum bleeding and not excessive it's probably fine...

Have you been more active today? That can stimulate bleeding again.

I have been pretty active since about a week or so pp. With a 4 year old and a house that needs decluttering, I have no choice.

I'll just keep an eye on it then. I wonder if this would interfere with how safe sex would be... *ponders*

Okay, yeah. I'm in such a different place from my first, lol.

Re: Bleeding re-started?

My pp bleeding stopped and started several times after several births. I noticed that it started back anytime I had a good deal of physical exertion. I'm like you, though, it always concerned me. Hopefully it will taper off soon. Try to rest.
