Re: Baby not moving yet!

I wouldn't worry too much. I was about 20 weeks before I felt much of anything.

Re: Baby not moving yet!

Thats what happened to me this time around. I felt #1 at about 19wks, #2 at 17wks, #3 at 15wks & THIS one I think I felt a touch at 16wks & then NOTHING until almost 19wks!!! Scared the crap out of me (my sisters baby died between 19-22wks this year). But now (20wks today) I am feeling the baby lightly a few times a day & I rented a doppler for the month. Dr figures my placenta is in the front this time.

Re: Baby not moving yet!

the baby might just be a gentle mover, i feel my baby move but it's not alot everyday, i sometimes only feel the baby 1-2 times a day and if i'm payng attention unless i'm laying down, if i am laying down i feel it move more, i didn't feel my other kids so soon that i remember, form what i read, most don't feel the baby start moving until about 17 weeks, your little peanut is just fine mama

Re: Baby not moving yet!

My 2and baby was facing my spine the whole pg, and as a result I didn't feel him move very much. As I got further along, I mostly felt his upper body movements, but rarely a kick. Just depends on the baby, mamma. Don't worry! I rented a heartbeat doppler for peace of mind, they are around $20-35 a month.

Re: Baby not moving yet!

16 weeks would be early to feel movement. I felt one poke at 17 weels (I think she kicked me ) and then did not feel anything for a couple of more weeks. Then she did not stop moving, except for at night, that kid likes to sleep!

Another thing, you could have an anterior placenta, this is not an issue, it just means your placenta is on the front instead of the back of your womb. Sometimes women who have anterior placentas report less movement.

Re: Baby not moving yet!

dont worry every baby is differnt, also your placenta may be in the front which will cause you to not feel the baby until later when the baby is much bigger

Re: Baby not moving yet!

I actually didn't feel DS#1 almost the entire pregnancy except sometimes in the side. My placenta was positioned on the front of my belly if that makes sense & I had lots of trips to L & D out of fear for no feel of movement but he would be kicking the crap out of my belly right there in the pics but I couldn't feel it b/c he was kicking my placenta but it was like a brick wall between me & his feet.
