I bought something off ebay at the end of last month, and paid immediately. A day later I get an email from the seller saying that they needed me to send an additional payment for sales tax. No problem - I get on paypal and try to send another $7, but for some reason it sends the entire amount of $115 again.

Of course, paypal can't do anything - the seller has to do the refund. So I email the seller and ask for a refund of the second payment, minus sales tax.

Two weeks go by and I haven't heard anything about the refund, nor have I received the item (it was only coming from 3 hours away), nor have I received a shipping notice.

Two days later, I finally get an email from the seller giving me the tracking number. It turns out they wrote the wrong address and the item was returned. I asked about the refund again and they did it the same day.

So assuming I eventually get my item, what kind of feedback should I leave? It wasn't anything I needed right away but it bugs me that they took so long to respond. But I don't want to leave negative or neutral and get retaliatory feedback.

I"ve left positive but said, "shipping took way too long, poor communication", but positive b/c I liked the item and it was as described blah blah blah. At least the comment is out there.

I received feedback like this recently

"product was fine, but bad communication"

and I was okay with it. I screwed up seriously on the communication front (don't ask, long story) but they were honest and it was fine
