What is your favorite yarn base?

I'm loving BBR right now for it's durability and YARDAGE! You need a lot of yardage for 24" hips and 14" inseam

Anything for me, I love gaia - worsted or bulky. Or stallion. I have a DD addiction

Re: What is your favorite yarn base?

I love the new Organic Gaia in Aran weight. It's 210 yards per 4oz and is my favorite base to knit with. I just finished this project knit on that base.

Oooh, there's an aran weight gaia?

And LT aran is lovely. I had a romper knit with it, and the drape is so nice

Re: What is your favorite yarn base?

Yes, the Aran weight Gaia is brand new. And I love it so much

Licorice Twist Aran, feels very similar to Licorice Twist DK weight, but they are made by different mills. The Aran has more loft, and I love how squishy and thick it is. You can also see the twist in it a lot easier and is wonderful for semi solid yarns. Sadly, the mill that manufactures LT Aran isn't going to be making anymore. I'm trying to convince Henry from the mill that makes LT DK to make it in an Aran weight. We'll see.

Thanks ) How does the gaia aran compare to bulky? Is it a comparable substitute?

Re: What is your favorite yarn base?

Yes, it is exactly the same, it just falls between the worsted at 280 and bulky at 153. The Aran is 210 (per 4oz)
