Re: Harvest Babies Weekly Chat 12/12-12/18
Also, I suppose I should put these PFs up for sale. I'm never going to use them.

Re: Harvest Babies Weekly Chat 12/12-12/18
Funny as we almost all seem to have a toddler too!
Rachel- That happenend to me twice with the sposies too, I think I had his pp to the side and somehow the pee leaked out the side, up his back etc and the diaper was dry. I think I may have made a big mistake! I have one thirsties fitted that I just put on him right now and I'm in love! I was perfectly happy with the PF's and I had to go try something new I have a love love thing with thirsties fab anything. I have two sets of their wipes and would love more as they are so great, soft etc. Maybe I should just try to make some fitteds, not sure how difficult it would be. I'm an average sewer.....Heather - think it was you who said the PF's were too big right now. I have infant sized too and I just fold down the front part to make it smaller and that works great. So trifold first, then fold down front a little. Then fan out back part when under him and snappi.

Leanbh- I did try that the few times I put them on him. But my covers are too big, too. Well, it has actually been a couple weeks since I tried so they might fit now. Hm... I should go try it out.

My covers seemed huge the first time too, but then I waited two weeks and they work fine. But they are the thirsties duo, size one, so on the smaller side than a OS. I also have a bummi which is a S(8lb up) and that still looks huge though, haven't even tried it...

Nichole- happy birthday! I hope you have a great day tomorrow!
Diapers - we've pretty much been using sposies, I feel like I'm putting my parents through enough torture with us staying with them, that washing dipes in their washer might put them over the edge. Plus my mom's bought all the sposie diapers so not much to complain about. Me & the girls went home to AZ this past weekend & we used cloth there & loved it. I'm just sad all the NB stuff I bought (& I kinda went overboard) isn't getting used more. Babywearing- I've been using the moby & it can definitely be a lifesaver. Just the other day she was screaming her head off in the car & I put her in the moby & instantly no more crying! Afm - Not that they're big but it seems like DD has had so many problems, thankfully they're all getting worked out. She was jaundiced, which they waited 5 he's to tell us in the hospital & we really didn't like the random pediatrician that saw DD, so we got her seen right away on base & her levels went down on their own. We go next week to see an orthopedic specialist to see if she has a 'hip click' & found out today I can make her an appt with an ent to see if they think her tongue tie needs to be clipped. & both of her eyes have blocked tear ducts that seem to be getting better on their own already.

Re: Harvest Babies Weekly Chat 12/12-12/18
With so much talk of sposies and cloth I almost bust out laughing last night when MIL made the comment that she 'guessed she would have to buy diapers for when she watched dd'. I have no clue why she has totally rejected cloth. DD has been using them since she was about 4-5 months old but we bought a pack of sposies for her to use while i was in the hospital (mainly so i wouldnt come home to diaper laundry right away) and ever since then she totally rejects the CDs I send over. Almost every time she comes back in one of her cousin sposie diapers! But really I'm not going to fuss if she is buying the diapers I have nothing against sposies - I just hate the cost which is the main reason I CD.......
Thanks for the bday wishes everyone

Happy Birthday Nichole!
I haven't bought any of the sposies we have used. I got them from my sister (she made a diaper cake for me). I finally tried on an infant prefold and small cover this morning and they fit! I think I am going to do the PFs during the day and the sposies at night until they are used up.

Sorry the trainers aren't working as well as expected. I found that out when I was training my son. We ended up using underwear and no pants and then no underwear right after he had an accident. But that was only after I got rid of the carpet in most of my house. Quote:

The funny thing is that I tend to give away paper diapers for baby gifts. But most of the time my friends want them. And I can get super deals with sales and coupons. my little guy just started using the yellow edge prefolds when they are pinned on him but his pocket diapers are still getting stuffed with orange edge prefolds. I always laughed at the orange edge because my first two were never small enough to use them. But this baby is smaller and they did fir him for the first 2 weeks. I only had 13 of them so I also used cotton washcloths. I think I liked the wash cloths better than the prefolds for the first week but then he turned into a heavy wetter.

Re: Harvest Babies Weekly Chat 12/12-12/18
Kim - that sounds like a lot of doctor visits with your DD. I hope her hip doesn't need a brace or cast. I know a baby who had the brace for a month or so. DS 2 and 3 both had the clogged tear duct. DS2 had it for about 5/6 months! Ped said it's very common and should clear up by iteself. If it doesn't then they would think about fixing it after a year. I used to have to massage it with a clean pinky finger(nail cut super short). If it got icky, then I would squirt BM in the corner too as that was supposed to be good for bacteria growth or whatever. I mentioned it to the ped and she didn't think I was completely nuts, so might be some validity to it!
Nichole- yay for being 21! Hope you have a great day and get spoiled rotten! Sally - it's funny how only a lb or two can make a big difference between things fitting. My friends baby was 10lb 6oz and I'm wondering how she is doing with nb clothes. We keep missing each other's phone calls. They grow so fast. I'm always finding an outfit/top etc that they are too small for or barely get one or two wears out of. Suppose I tend to stick with the favorite clothes most of the time. LO mostly wears pj's, I'm not a big "outfit" person on babies. Sposies - I think I've only bought 2 packets or pampers swaddlers. One before he was born and one after. We got a gift of a pack of huggies, still going through those. Then I got a pack of seventh generation(abe's market BF deal), and this morning just got a box of 3 naturecare packets and 2 packs of naturecare pull ups from the ecomom black friday deal. I feel spoiled with all these almost free/cheap diapers. I love the naturecare ones too, but not in my budget normally if I need sposies. So for those who celebrate Christmas or Hannukah. Are you getting your newbies a gift? I just have a baby rattle so far for him, but our stroller(which we just got from SIL) has broken so looks like we might have to get a snap and go or something. The wire/cable mechanism snapped, so stroller is working fine, but won't fold! So annoying. DH is going to see if he can fix it.............
