I am actually thinking of naming my baby I'm expecting after her little one (if it's a girl) this story has really stuck with me. Huge hugs mama.
I cried reading this. GOD is truly amazing in healing our hearts from what society says is normal. Thanks for sharing.

Her mom said she was the best little baby ever and that some of the things associated with Downs weren't so bad. She slept really well, she was always happy, and because of low muscle tone she liked to be snuggled much longer than her older 2 babies who started crawling and sitting by 6mos and were less dependent. I don't mean these things in a rude way, but it was nice to hear a mom embrace the things she was dealing with instead of dwelling on them like I've heard so many times.
for your baby girl and for you mama.
I agree that there will be some really amazing things about your baby BECAUSE she has downs. It has taken me years to get to this point but i know my baby would not be the amazing kid she is if she didnt have cerebral palsy. Of course we wouldnt choose struggles for our kids but its just one of many great things about my daughter.

I think you might enjoy this blog . The lady who writes it didn't know before hand that her baby had downs. Her birth story is very touching.

eta: someone already sent you there! I'm glad her blog is popular it's very inspiring.

Congrats on your baby girl, it is something you will just go with the flow on. Your baby will amaze you though, and there is a ton of support for parents with a special needs child.
I didn't know my dd had ds until she was born, It was a surprise for sure but I wouldn't change anything about her, she is very smart, so funny and loves to make everyone laugh, she is silly for sure and does so much for herself, she will be 7 on Valentines Day. Downs kids are the most friendly loving kids you will ever have the pleasure of coming across and turn into wonderful adults who can work and become independent in life. You are a wonderful mama, you have been chosen to be the mama of one of the most special people in the world, embrace it mama and if you need any advice or someone to listen to your questions/concerns or anything at all, feel free to pm me anytime.
