Dyeing Silks Question

I bought some dyes and silkd in a Dharma co-op. I bought their blank silks and the Dharma Fiber Reactive Procion Dyes. I went onto their site and downloaded the directions only I didn't buy the Synthrapol. Do I actually need it to get the excess dye out or is there another way?

Thank you!

Re: Dyeing Silks Question

I've read that you can use Ivory liquid soap instead of synthropol. But you can dye your silks with Kool Aid, or Wiltons or egg coloring (from Easter eggs) or food coloring.. Just make sure to put in some vinegar and use heat (like cook it or put it in the micro.. but if you use the micro make sure there's enough liquid for the silk to stay wet or it will burn.. don't ask me howI know :lol)
