Re: 2,012 items in 2012

I have another hit on a couple more things I put on craigslist... here's hoping they are true hits and not more spam. Tonight I'm going through some of my old cloth diapers. I gave a lot of them originally to a friend of mine but I found some more.

Went through some toys in the backyard and under the bathroom sink today. Was able to clear out 43 items.

Total: 62
Left to go: 1950

Cleaned out ds's and dd's closets today. I one more stack of clothes to go through...but most of it is dh's.

I have an entire crib bedding set to sell, all of my prefolds, a whole bunch of doublers and a few misc girl blankets. Will count them as gone in the spring after my garage sale...but it felt good to add more to the to sell pile!

I did sell one diaper today, so that will go this week. Threw away another pair of underwear (they have gone through 2 pregnancies! Dh got me some for Christmas so it is out with the old!).

Today was a slow one.
80) expired cake mix
81) expired can condensed milk
82) Tupperware without lid
83) Tupperware with I'll-fitting lid

Slow and steady, right?

Re: 2,012 items in 2012

I finally started - and I'm off to a slow start at that. But every little bit is going to help and the little bid I did made me feel better. I went through a 6" stack of papers that I knew all had to be thrown away but I had to tear off part w/sensitive info. (counting 6 b/c it was easy) I went through another smaller stack to do more of the same but I actually had to see what those were - and actually a cancelled check we needed was in that pile. (counting 10 b/c it took 30min and someone else has said she thought about 6paper items felt like one and that is about what it was), spent lighter, one cardboard box, 2 pc packing foam - these weren't just the incoming stuff these were things I had in the "save in case I need pile", one plastic take out box, one old toothbrush, one book. Total 23 over the weekend. Today 2 spent glow bracelets and a magazine - so 2 more. My new total 25! Seems kind of lame next to some of the posts - but for me its a start. The accountibility will help and hopefully the game of doing it will be motivating.

Thanks! I hope so - I'm hoping if and when I get to 2012 it will be a real dent in the clutter in my house!
