How much fresh juice for a 11 month old?

How much fresh juice (I have a juicer now!!) is okay to give an 11 month old? I juiced a few carrots, celery, and a grapefruit this morning for my breakfast, and my dd wanted some - I gave her about 2 ounces of it and she gulped it down. I don't give her store bought juice at all, and very rarely water (mostly just to teach her how to drink from a cup). She is mostly BFed, but definitely eats a great deal during the day. I'm not worried about extra calories because she needs them anyway - her metabolism is outta this world fast with how active she is. I still offer her BM before I give her other foods and this would be no exception. So, how much is okay to give her? This could be a great way to get the harder raw veges/fruits she has trouble chewing into her diet until she gets some molars.

Re: How much fresh juice for a 11 month old?

i would think a small glass (4oz or so) twice a day. I personally don't do a lot of juice for my 18modd. We do mostly water and then do a glass of rice milk a day and maybe a glass of juice every few days.

I'm pretty sure that it is recommended to give no more than 1/4 cup of juice to toddlers. You can water it down if you want it to go further

Even if it is freshly expressed vege/fruit juice? I couldn't find anything about fresh juice when I was trying to find the information. I probably won't give her much then until she's a little older, just to be on the safe side.

I think my ped said 6-8 oz day. I usually do 4 oz spread out and watered down throughout the day. Lately a little more since we have to do an iron supp and its nasty. The issue with juice is the sugar content and empty calories. I would think if she is BF well you could give her 6-8 oz fresh juice. You can always check with your ped at her 12 check up.

we don't give juice unless it's what you just made. I wouldn't limit it necessarily for teeth/sugar issues but for poop issues!
