Update: I passed! My numbers were 100% perfect, and the MW confirmed what I'd suspected; I probably failed the 1 hour because I hadn't eaten a thing in 16-18 hours.

If you failed your 1 hour test, what was your sugar level?
Did you pass or fail the 3 hour?

I got my 1 hour results yesterday and my level was 158. I'm told 140 is the cutoff for normal.
I know the 1 hour is not diagnostic, but I'm still really worried about getting slapped with the GD label.

Also, when I know I won't be able to eat first thing in the AM, I normally make sure to have a high protein snack right before bed. I forgot to do that the night before my test. Could this affect the outcome?

I failed my 1hr and passed my 3hr. That was a first in my 5 pregnancies! I had a score of like 159 or something. I forget. My first 2 results of the 3 hr weren't any better but the 3rd hour was 98 and fasting was good so I passed.
Good luck! I don't know much about eating to prevent certain results but some people don't eat much carbs/sugars a few days leading up to the test or something?

I don't remember my #'s but I failed my 1 hr and passed my 3 hr test. I was super stressed about it b/c my mom had GD and I didn't want to go through that. Good luck!

Re: Glucose test flunkies

I've failed my 1 hr a couple of times, always passed the 3 hour. This time my levels were 159. I refused to take the 3 hour.

I don't remember the numbers but I failed 1 hr and passed 3hr. From my experience a lot of women do that. Ofcourse some do have GD but a lot pass 3 hr.

Re: Glucose test flunkies

The diagnosing levels changed in January of this year, here's the new chart

"Perform a 75-g OGTT, with plasma glucose measurement fasting and at 1 and 2 h, at 24–28 weeks of gestation in women not previously diagnosed with overt diabetes.
The OGTT should be performed in the morning after an overnight fast of at least 8 h.
The diagnosis of GDM is made when any of the following plasma glucose values are exceeded:
Fasting ≥92 mg/dl (5.1 mmol/l)

1 h ≥180 mg/dl (10.0 mmol/l)

2 h ≥153 mg/dl (8.5 mmol/l)"

ETA- my fasting is almost always over 92, sometimes it's in the 89-92 range but it's always elevated. I do not have diabetes. All other 1hr and 2 hour test are well within the normal range, even with eating a large carb meal. I am currently in a two week finger pricking test with the birth center i plan to use. If i risk out, i'll be pissed. I have documentation that shows that this is my normal, and unchanged by pregnancy. That appt is in one week..not looking forward to it.
