3 day migraine

I've had a headache/migraine since Friday. I've taken tylenol, slept, drank a ton of water and nothing is helping. I woke up at 5 am in tears it hurt so bad. Im 16 weeks pregnant so my options of pain relief are limited. Any suggestions on what else to try?

I would try Advil/Motrin, it's really only discouraged during the 3rd trimester and I took it occasionally with my OB's ok until I was in my 3rd trimester. I would try that with a caffeinated drink and see if it helps. If not call your dr. You shouldn't have to suffer like that.

Safefetus.com says nothing about 2nd trimester. I'm going to take it and get a coffee. Hope it helps!

Re: 3 day migraine

Try a dose of Aleve with a dose of Benedryl. I have NO idea why it helps, but it has helped me in the past. Not always, but the only other thing that helps my migraines is a script that isn't safe for pregnancy. But it was something that my OB okd for me to take when I was PG with my youngest.

It's back to what it was before. I don't want to page my midwife because i feel silly. Is there anything safe they can even give me? I can't function at work like this tomorrow.

Re: 3 day migraine

I had SEVERE migraines during my last pregnancy. I have them when not pregnant as well. Anyway, I was in the ER a few times and they gave me codeine with a can of coca cola. Towards the end of my pregnancy I ended up seeing a neurologist who prescribed fioricet and reglan. The fioricet in combo with the reglan will get rid of the headache. Hope you feel better, it is so hard to deal with the migraines!
