Diaper Swappers

Had a good appointment, mil went with me too. She's been a little...quiet about homebirth but I think meeting the midwife today helped her some

My iron/hemoglobin went up.

I gained another 5lbs...not so good but not bad, 29 over all so = 1lb per week. Baby is laying crooked, like her head is pointed at my left hip instead of down but I think she'll go head down - at some point at least.

Need to run errands tomorrow and clean tomorrow - Peanut wanna come to my house?

It's cold though - it's like 15F outside right now, brrrr.

Poor dd1 and her teeth though

I hope she can sleep tonight.

I think this little one's head is pointed at my left hip as well! His kicks are high on my right, lots of bubbles and punches and weird movements felt near my left hip/center. I never feel anything on my left high side, so I think he's kind of sideways, not anterior, nor posterior! Lol

ARGH if something *can* go wrong this week it's going to!

Had to call into work yesterday because DS threw up in the middle of the night - between Monday & Tuesday. Tuesday, DS seemed MUCH better... so I went to my Starbucks group... and then got a phone call about 2 hours later saying DS was burning up - 104.3! YIKES!

Off we go to convenient care... at like 8:35 (they close at 9) but I did NOT want to go to the ER if I didn't have to. Chest x-rays ordered and guess what? My poor baby has pneumonia AGAIN! He got it 1 year ago August - yep AUGUST! and had the same major high fever...

So instead of working today, I'm home again! It's a great thing that my boss is totally understanding and wonderful!

because she's more concerned about making sure I don't get sick for baby's sake and even though we are short-staffed and she's going to be working another 12 hour shift to cover for me (that'll be 3 in a row!) she was super understanding and just said poor baby - make sure you take care of him <3 Love her!

Yeah, if you watch my DS, I'll gladly clean your home.

Yesterday I played around with some diaper patterns. I made 2 prototypes out of prefolds, but I think I want to make about a dozen out of my left over cotton velour. I don't know whether I should buy more velour and make the outside velour too, or if I should use the rest of ds's left over knits (all are for boys, no GN). Hmm..decisions.

Normally I hate velour, but since nb diapers aren't used as long, I figure these should stay nice. And since I threw out all of our bottombumpers I don't need to wash the diapers in bleach and very hot water and run 3 cycles every time i wash and whatnot. That in itself helps a ton!

Hopefully I can get some diapers cut out today.

Hmm, opposite coasts, don't think that would work out very well though. I did get the kitchen mostly cleaned this morning.

DD1 is apparently refusing to nap today, ah well, at least she slept well last night.

I need to make a few more diapers too...I just make them out of flannel though. I think I have some more OBV though...I should make a couple out of what I have left too.

I messed up my hip/lower back a couple days ago. Went to the chiropractor today to see what he can do for it. Sitting with an ice pack on my back and neck now and I'll take a hot bath this evening. It usually helps after that. He wants me to come in twice a week for a while to get it worked out and get me realigned properly. Thankfully he's only $25 a visit but on one income that's tight -_- I'm just hoping we can swing it. I really need to get it all worked out and get lined up properly before baby comes in early March so labor will go smoothly. I need to get with my MW and figure out how to do the daily exercises on spinningbabies.com properly. I've tried the side-lying thingy and I think I did something wrong cause I've been achy in the hips ever since and then was pushing a box under the crib (yeah I know, shouldn't have) and pulled something so that didn't help at all. I'm hoping between the chiropractor and getting the exercises right I can get my hips and lower back straightened out for the birth.
In better news, I go in for my 4-D ultrasound tomorrow morning! ^_^ I can't wait to see it! It's one of my favorites. ^_^ I also want to get a better look at size of DS...the MW told me 3 weeks ago that he was measuring a bit big with the fundal height measuring tape thing. I'm hoping my weight gain isn't too bad this time. I gained 6lbs at last months visit. It's been 3 weeks since that visit and will be 2 weeks between visits until closer to due date.

You're on a roll- I made about 2 or 3 diapers and then got bored, and also I'm almost out of fabric. Instead I'm knitting a pair of EC wool pants from a pattern that I found on ravelry. I have no idea how I'm going to use them, but I had some cheap wool yarn (which actually ended up knitting up a lot softer than I anticipated), and figured that it would be good practice. I'm about 60% done!

I wish I was detail-oriented. then maybe someday I could sell something that I made. Instead, I make mistakes and just count it as a lesson. NO WAY am I'm unraveling anything to fix it! lol.

Oh yeah, I was knitting a flower for a neckwrap for my mom. Stick with me, because this is ridiculous. To make the flower ruffly the directions called to increase every other row 3-fold. I was supposed to end up with about 250 stitches, which was already by far the most I had ever knit in a row. What did I do? SOMEHOW I also knitted the 250 stitches 3-fold! But the stupid flower was so bunched up I missed that I had done that until I went to bind off.....like 700 stitches. It took me 4 hours.

And then it looked decidedly more brain-like than flower petal-y...sigh. Lesson learned. Count count count.
