Queens/LI Mommas need your help!

Dh got a job offer in Jamaica Queens.

We are originally from the northeast. I am from the Jersey shore area and Dh is from Upstate. We currently live in the deep south.

This move would bring us much closer to family.

The question is where, if your dh worked in Jamaica Queens would you live? We do not want his commute to be terribly long. I am thinking a 20 minute drive max.

I have 3 children. 4 yr old 3 yr old and a 9 month old. Good school systems are important since my children will be hitting school age in the next year.

We love farmers markets and dog parks. I have been scoping out the Whole Foods and Trader Joes. So rec on these topics would be great to.

Thank you for any advice in advance.

I just moved from floral park ny because of divorce.... I'm originally from nyack ny. Floral park is long island, nassau county. There are nice dog parks, town pools, and I was a teacher for the fp elementary school and my older daughter went there for 3 years.
I recommend looking in nassau county long island so you are not living in NYC, not in the NYC DOE school system, and your husband isn't paying NYC income tax on top of ny tax. I am back in rockland and still only 40 min from where we lived in floral park and even less to parts of queens.... And where I am now is considered the suburbs.... More land, trees, parks.... You might be interested over here too! Pm me if I can help anymore.... I'll give u my email and phone number if u want it!

Thank you!

We are currently looking in Nassau and Bayside, and even Brooklyn. I want to ideally keep dh's commute under 25 minutes. We will see how that one works out.

I think we will be in Nassau until we sell our curretn home and then decide if city life our suburb life is what we want.

Both to be honest excite me. Like I said in the above post we are originally from the NY area but not the city and LI.

I will know more info on Wednesday and may have more questions for you then.

Thank you
