I've been dairy and soy free for over 5 months now. It took a lot of work and label reading on my part because there is a LOT of hidden dairy and soy out there! DS has actual allergic colitis, confirmed by a sigmoidoscopy and biopsy, so it was a no-brainer for me to be dairy/soy free. Formula wasn't really an option for us, as I am pro-BF and too cheap to pay for it! Honestly, it took about 6 weeks to work out the kinks and I ended up finding LOTS of great food options that work with my lifestyle at a Whole Foods type store. I'm not sure about TED, but I think starting with dairy and soy is a good start. Just read labels!!!!
Good luck, it's livable, but not always fun. Am sure there is lots of moral support on these boards!
