Re: To Those Still BFing
I keep reminding him of that! I think the reason why he isn't really pushing it so much is b/c DD2 is such a crabby little screamer & doesn't self soothe, so the boobs are the only things that calm her down!

Re: To Those Still BFing
Ds has been weaned for over a week and he's suddenly wanting to nurse a lot. But the milk is GONE and it HURTS. I don't regret weaning, as it was getting uncomfortable and such, but man, it is a blessing to have instant happy-making ability.
If I don't let him nap, he goes to sleep well at night with snuggles and rubs. But yesterday he accidentally got a nap and wasn't too tired and cried for quite a while to nurse. It wasn't fun. BTW, we are a dairy-free family and my kids never missed milk at all. We tried raw once, but we still had the allergic reactions. So we eat more things like nuts, seeds, and fruits and veggies as snacks.

Re: To Those Still BFing
My daughter will be 16 months old when our new baby arrives. She loves to nurse & will not take a bottle & hates the sippy cup. Everyone in my family is telling me to wean her (Keep in mind that these are people who bottle fed formula). My heart of heart tells me to take it day by day - I will tandem breastfeed if I need to & I will not resent my older baby for still wanting Mommy Milk.
I do need to get my baby drinking from a sippy cup before the new baby arrives so that she'll get the fluids she needs while Mommy's in the hospital with the new baby. However, this does not mean that I will cut her off from nursing. I plan on nursing my older baby when she comes to visit in the hospital. |
