Re: Do You Prefer A Male Or Female OB?

I wouldn't mind if it was a man, my first Dr was a man but he was FP not an OB and his female partner ended up being on call when I delivered. My other babies have all been delivered by the same female midwife.

I have had nothing but women OB's as FP for me & the kids. Just a comfort level personally and I prefer the least amount of people in the room when having my pap done- and when I had to go to urgent care due to bleeding early on in my pregnancy I had a male md and he had to have a female assistant come in to ensure no liability issues. HTH.

Doesnt matter too me.
As long as I like them and feel comfortable with them I don't care what's between their legs.

I've only had male OBs. I'm actually more comfortable with a male. To me, I just don't like the idea of a female because I feel they are judging my nether regions.

Re: Do You Prefer A Male Or Female OB?

In our area I would be more comfortable with a male OB. The female OBs have a reputation for being higher intervention and less natural-birth friendly (and the stats to show for it).

I rarely go for any other reason than pregnancy, though, and I have a midwife this time.

I used to prefer females but now I don't care. As long as I am comfortable with him, I am fine with it. I loved my OB when I was pregnant with DD. I am so sad he moved away to FL. He was awesome.
I have had some really bad female OB's/Dr's. Like don't listen, etc. So between that and my awesome male OB I had, I realized that either can be good.

My OB is male and I LOVE him. So supportive and always has my back!
My midwife is a female. I like her because she is willing to do what I want in labor (my OB doesn't deliver anymore).
I've met female and male OB/providers that I'd rather kick in the face!

Meh, if you've ever had a hospital birth then dozens of random hands found their way inside yer cooter. Even more if you go to a teaching hospital. Once you've gone through that, it don't really matter anymore who sees that. My only requirement is that they offer a warmed up eyelash curler cooter opener.
