Cough remedy?

It seems that every time my son gets a cold it is immediately accompanied by a tickly (not productive) cough. It's enough that it will break his sleep and he gets stressed out by it which then provokes more coughing. Does anyone know of a gentle cough remedy? I hate to dose him up on medicine when it really seems to be just a need to take the "tickle" away before it takes hold.
Thanks again

Re: Cough remedy?

I recently read that you can put vapor rub on the feet and cover them with socks. Somehow this helps. We haven't tried it yet as all the kids got better right before reading that but I figure it won't hurt them if it doesn't work. You'd just have a pair of messy socks.

You can do a symptom specific search on abchomeopathy.com.

Re: Cough remedy?

Homeopathy is extremely safe and very effective. I'v used a combination remedy called Umcka before and it is sometimes more effective form me than an OTC cough suppressant. Other times, it does nothing. Finding the right remedy is important, and I suggest checking the website a pp mentioned. Homeopathic remedies are very inexpensive, so even if you have to try a couple, it's not much at all. Hope the little one is feeling better soon!
