For those who have had their water break..
Ok, I feel kind of dumb because my water has broken with both previous pregnancies, but I don't remember the details of either. Just that one was a "gusher" and one was a "leaker"
. Anyway, I was wondering... did you guys have any feeling like something was about to happen? Like a cramp or twinge or anything? Or did it just pop? I'm pretty sure with dd2 I didn't feel anything, but I was wondering how it went with other people!

Re: For those who have had their water break..
mine popped with both my boys, it was a huge gush both times, I was a sleep with ds2 when I popped and it woke me straight up, with ds1, I was walking back to bed and it popped when I got into the doorway. I have not had a leaking bag before and i had no weird feeling about it about to happen neither time.

Re: For those who have had their water break..
Ok, well maybe the reason why I don't remember the details was because there wasn't much more to it, lol. I wonder if certain people are more prone to having their water break vs starting labor with regular contractions?

Mine has broken before labor in 3 out of 4'of my pregnancies. I assume it will this time too. Every time it was just a POP- no advance warning, except for very mild, irregular contractions in the weeks prior. One time I was sleeping (leapt out of bed so quickly I didn't get any on the sheets- and that was a gusher!!), once while doing the dishes, and once while out celebrating a birthday, seated in a chair at a nice restaurant. ("We need to leave. We need to leave NOW!!!" LOL) that was the only time it wasn't a true gusher and it actually sealed itself back up and my mw had to re-break it. ![]() sent from my iPod, which takes full responsibility for spelling errors

Re: For those who have had their water break..
I'm thinking now I might need to strategically place some towels in my favorite places to sit, and on my bed. And maybe the drivers seat of my brand new car. LOL.

Re: For those who have had their water break..
With dd1 I was in labor for about a day before, then my water broke on its own and I went from a 3 to a 10 in that moment and she was born 20 minutes later.
This time I was sleeping felt a tiny trickle, woke hubby to grab towel just in case and sure enough started gushing when I sat up. Then when I got dressed it started gushing again. I started having contractions after it broke. By an hour and half later it was hard labor. I had been dialated to a 1.5 and 60% effaced for three weeks with irregular mild contractions.

Re: For those who have had their water break..
My water broke while I was sleeping with DD. It was my first pregnancy, so I had no idea what to expect, but there was no doubt about it. Whether the "pop" was actually audible or just seemed to be because it was happening inside of me I have no clue....but it did wake me up IMMEDIATELY and I knew EXACTLY what had happened.

Re: For those who have had their water break..
I would start carrying a towel in the car, I just got my van in October so don't want to wet my leather seats neither if it happens while I am driving..lol
I have a mattress protector on my bed already too.
