Stretch mark oil / emu oil?

Does anyone have any recommendations on what to use for prevention of stretch marks while pregnant? I'm on my third baby and have staved them off so far, not sure if it's luck or from lathering it on in the past. I used shea butter w/ my first son, second son, I used a mixture of essential oils (I don't know what I did with the recipe for it), and now with this one I just heard emu oil is supposed to be fantastic. Has anyone else heard of anything that's suppose to be great?

i used palmers stretch mark oil an lotion with my youngest an it worked great for me, what i hear that works really great is water intake , im going to do my best this time around to do that . but its sooo hard for me to do ! never heard of that oil before so im no help there .

I used Palmers for both pregnancies and I have no stretchmarks on the tummy from either

I love Belly Butter. Can't look at it now b/c DS is asleep near it. Used it religiously my 2nd pg, ran out for my 3rd. Great stuff. Also, great for other issues. Might be organic, can't remember. HTH

I use the Stretch Oil from Earth Mama Angel Baby and no stretch marks yet! Plus it smells great and gives DH an excuse to rub my belly!

I've been succesful by simply drinking insane amounts of water which is supposed to help keep that middle dermis layer (which is where the strecth marks form) soft and stretchy. But personally, I think luck and possibly genetics have a lot to do with one's propensity to get the battle scars.

Stretch marks are INEVITABLE if you (like me) are prone to them through genetics (if you don't believe me - ask your OB/GYN). I tried every lotion/potion, lots of water, high protein, etc, etc. as well as a paced weight gain over my pregnancy and I still got horrendous stretch marks.

Take a good look at your Mom or sister or Aunt, etc - if they don't have 'em then you probably won't get 'em either (and I'll hate you ).

The lotions ARE great and make you smell nice and give you some needed tlc from DH but they aren't going to stop you from getting stretch marks if you've been "marked" for them.

My MW said it's not even genetic. It doesn't matter whether your mother, aunt, etc. has them. It just matters whether you get them (obviously). She said there is nothing you can do to prevent them. If you are going to get them, you'll get them. My mom doesn't have any stretch marks, nor do my aunts or cousins. However, I have stretch marks from puberty on my hips and thighs. I'm only 11 weeks now, so I'll have to wait to see if I get them on my belly, which I am betting I do.

anyone else not have any in their first pregnancies but get them in another ? I had none for my first, none for the 2nd, One for the 3rd , a few for the 4th and a litltle more with the last. im curious about this time....
