Re: what immediately soothes fried bottoms?
I love the new, all natural Boudreaux's Butt Paste!! My little one is lactose intolerant and gets the same kind of burning poo rashes, and this clears them up in one change (if it hasn't reached the open sore point...then it takes a little longer just for healing, but still WAY faster than anything else I've tried, including CJ's, which I do LOVE for eczema)

When they have diarrhea put them straight in the tub with baking soda. I use Aveeno diaper cream when I need a good barrier cream. I like that it is thicker than the other barrier creams I have tried.

Re: what immediately soothes fried bottoms?
couple ?s- wouldn't not wiping after a wet diaper be worse on the bottom because of the urine on the skin?
How much baking soda do you add to the bathtub for soaks?

I wipe on pp's but make sure to wipe gently - more like a dab than a swipe. I also slather in coconut oil, constarch powder or cj's butter depending on the burn.

Re: what immediately soothes fried bottoms?
Pure, raw honey! It's a little messy, but works like a charm. Plus it rinses out of CD very easily on hot or even warm water. I got the tip from our country vet who uses it on all his animals. It acts like an antibiotic and it has amazing moisturizing properties.
