If you've had a LO with dairy sensitivity, did subsequent LOs?
DS had dairy, egg and tomato sensitivities and it was miserable after my milk came in with him screaming and refusing to nurse until I figured out the dairy. Then he had reflux problems until about 5 months when I did TED and discovered the egg and tomato. As I get closer to delivery with #2 I am wondering if I should cut out dairy so that it is already out of my system, in case this one has dairy issues as well. Then I could at least introduce it and see rather than having a miserable road while I try to get it out of both our systems. It just seems like dairy protein intolerance is more and more common (or we recognize it more) and I don't know if it is more likely since DS1 had problems. So I would love to know if those of you with LOs that have had food sensitivities have had other children with them too?

My little ones both did/ do
Dairy / soy for both. Ds1 outgrew dairy but is now allergic to peanuts. Ds2 is dairy, possibly soy and ebf so I'm not sure what will happen later on. Last edited by theonenonlymrssmith; 01-10-2012 at 02:31 PM. |

My first two had no allergies, only the third had the dairy sensitivity. My DH (father of all of them) has dairy sensitivity.

Thanks, I know that it can go either way but would love to hear more experiences!

Only 1 out of 4 for dairy/soy
if it makes you feel better emotionally, you could take dairy out before just in case. Then reintroduce it so you don't have to wonder or have LO suffer. Good luck!!

Both of my girls have had food problems. They were not all the same foods. Take out dairy if you think it'll help. Don't be surprised if that isn't the offending food. Or that there isn't an offending food at all!

DD did, and when DS was 2 weeks and started being fussy like DD was I cut it out and it helped. If I forget to read a label and it has dairy in it he'll bleed like DD did, so I know it's dairy. I figure when we decide to have baby #3 I'll do just that and eliminate dairy before delivery and just not even go there until later and see then.

All of my kids have dairy issues. I did to when I was a kid.
I stop dairy at birth!

My first was allergic to milk proteins but it went away when he was about 1 1/2. My other two have not had any problems with diary at all.

DD has/had an intolerance to milk and soy. DS has never had any issues! We rarely have dairy in the house because of DD's intolerance but DS will drink milk at my moms house with no problems.
