Top names
I know it's a little late in the game, but since there has still been name talk recently, thought I'd share this-- 2011 top 100 names:
http://www.babycenter.com/top-baby-n...g_20120110%3A3 (Leah, Olivia is number 3 on the girl list!, although I love the name myself.)

Re: Top names
Dylan is #27! Not sure how I feel about that, lol! I really wanted to name this little one Liam, sort of glad DH went against it.

Hmmm we are doing okay on there. DS is 69, DD1 is 29, DD2 is 51 and potential DD3 is 98, although we are spelling with a C, and our boy name isn't there at all.

None of our names are on there! I'm surprised Zoe isn't! I thought it was somewhat popular. Dd1's middle name is Grace and it's on there but that's the only one I see of ours. New baby is more than likely going to be Matilda (we still need a middle name) and I don't see that on there either.
We have had some negative looks/comments when we have told people Matilda. I really like the name and don't see anything that odd about it, I think it's cute and goes well with our other girls names. But my sister was like isn't that going to be weird for her when she's an adult? And my aunt actually flat out said "you aren't really going to name her Matilda are you? I don't like it." I wasnt sure how to react to that but I think I laughed and I still find it kind of amusing...like we are supposed to change our minds because she dosnt like it? Um no. Even a random lady in the grocery store asked us what we are naming her and she seriously gave us a look like she was disgusted! I'm not sure why people don't like it...? It does kind of throw me off a little getting so much negativity but I still love the name and if it feels right after we see her then I will still go with it.Sent from my iPhone using DS Forum

Re: Top names
This has been my guide for naming this baby! I know that is silly, but after we named Violet I looked it up and saw that it has been on the upward trend for the past 7 years or so and sort of freaked. I LOVE the name and it is absolutely her name, but I worry that when she gets to school, there will be 200 "Violets" in her elementary school. My sister was a "Jessica" in 1980 and seriously those girls all had to go be last initials because there were so many "Jessicas" in 1979-1984 or so.
Leah, I LOVE Evelyn or Evalyn and if you are a nick-name person, there are so many cute names to derive. Olivia is SOOOOO cute, but it was been in the top 5 for several years, so does your DH realize that when he calls "Olivia" at the First Grade play, seven kids are going to come running? I don't discourage folks from using a popular name though, just because it's "popular." If you love it, GO FOR IT. I'm struggling with DH's two favorites: Lucy and Amelia because they are both in the top 50. I really want to go with Evangeline or Aurelia because they are no where up there!
