Re: How close to due date did you keep working?
I plan to work until my due date. We'll see how that goes.
Did anyone have problems with other people saying you shouldn't be working, or making rude comments about your 9-month belly? I worry about that.

Re: How close to due date did you keep working?
I work as an RN in an ER and I was due on a Sunday and was scheduled to work that day. I worked the monday before and was put on bed rest on tuesday. I was induced on that thursday. I planned to work until i just couldn't.

Re: How close to due date did you keep working?
I plan to work up until the very end. In my school district, you don't get paid for the leave time, nor is there a short term disability option, so I want to make sure I don't use any more of my vacation days than absolutely necessary.

Re: How close to due date did you keep working?
Here we are required to take at least 4 weeks off prior to the due date. I will probably stop some time between 4-6 weeks in advance.

Re: How close to due date did you keep working?
Yes, it's a total of 16 weeks of paid leave (sometimes more depending on the company, but this is the minimum). It's up to you to decide how to use it as long as it's in the 4-6 week window. They also require at least 10 weeks to be postpartum, so if you go past 40 weeks, you get an extension if you stopped only 4 weeks prior to the birth. Unfortunately you don't get additional days if you go early. I think I'm explaining this right anyway. It makes sense in my head.
It's still one of the "worst" in Europe, but hey, I'll take it.

Re: How close to due date did you keep working?
I was scheduled right up until my due date. However, both of my babies came at 38w. I worked right up until I had them.
