Baby registry must have items

What is that one item you couldn't live without? I have my registry completed but considering there are 80 people on the guest list I need to add a few more items. I have a huge family! FYI Im registered at Target and Amazon so everything is fair game. First Time Mom

We are cloth diapering and I have all I need so I don't need to stock up on diapers and wipes. Thanks for all your suggestions.

A baby carrier, astretchy wrap like a moby or sleepy wrap for the beginning and then a SSC like an ergo for later on. We also used the boppy all the time in the beginning if you are breast feeding. Maybe some nice baby wash/lotions like California baby or episencial. I am sure you already did most of the standard stuff like swings, bouncers, pack and play etc (which honestly we didn't use any of those but tons of moms do)
Mommy to Fiona 12/09 and new baby Layla 3/12 a HBAC!

A second vote for a good quality breast pump. Had Zero problems with the first, but was so engorged when the milk came in that he couldn't latch on. The pump was a great help. My second spent a week in the NICU, and between the stress and a baby with a lazy latch, a pump was essential.

Also - The Baby Book by Dr. William Sears. Unless you are totally opposed to Attachment Parenting, this book is a terrific reference.

Re: Baby registry must have items

You probably have enough ideas but just to share:
Pack n'Play
Bouncer seat
Pacifier clip
Backpack "leash" - they come in all sorts of animals (monkey, dog) and are soft with a small pocket backpack and then the "tail" is really long like a leash so you can hold on to your child when they just have to walk. These are especially good at the zoo, park and in airports.
Calendula diaper rash cream by Weleda
sippy cups
plastic plates, spoons and forks
organizer or baskets for diapering supplies on every floor (or at least living room and bedroom)
natural baby wash
Lasinoh (you'll need this in the beginning of BF!)
baby nail clippers
crib mirror
swaddling blankets
What to Expect the First Year (these are great for referencing, especially with milestones and growth charts)
What to Expect the Toddler Years
diaper pail
Borax (for soaking diapers)
If you're having a girl then cute little crochet hats and headbands, clips to attach to hats and interchangeable bands

On a side note, my baby girl has extremely sensitive skin and we just saw a dermatologist who said to stay away from anything Johnson and Johnson (we do anyway) because it is pretty hard on delicate skin. I know I got a ton of this kind of stuff at my baby shower (even though I registered for a natural brand) so I donated it all. Just wanted to pass that along. Good luck and Blessings on your new little one :-)

bouncy seat
wrap/carrier of some type
a&a swaddling blankets

You can always register for stuff for later on...high chair or booster chair that attaches to a dining room/kitchen chair (I prefer the booster chair), sippy cups, spoons, bowls, simple early toys like soft blocks, rattles, that sort of thing.
Brenna, all around AP'ing, trying to be crunchier, stay at home mama to Ash, Bryn, and our little Rebel Journey, wife to Nate
Come swag with me!! I've earned $75 in FREE Amazon gift cards just by searching

Re: Baby registry must have items

I'd ask for stuff like toys, a jumper, walker, clothing and other stuff that you need for 6-18 months. You don't realize how quickly they grow/change in those 6-9 months and many baby items are very time limited. The stuff I most appreciated was 6-9, 9-12 and up basic clothing and toys so we had them put away when we needed them. I wouldn't over register as people may look at it as greedy and just add on once many of the things are bought (and put a range). Some of the best things too were things I'd never think of and the other thing is don't ask for too much of anything as your tastes pre-baby and post baby may be very different. I'd ask for an infant car seat and some convertibles. I'd ask for an umbrella stroller too for later (the Uppa G series strollers are really nice).

Congrat's on the baby.
Mom to my wonderfully sweet toddler who is the joy of our lives. :
