Kanoe baby hammock

I HAVE to have this!! Dh found it online tonight. I have never even heard of anything like this at all. The testimonies about the benefits for special needs babies were amazing, too. We're not even going to get a crib this time - just this. A side bonus, too - its from right by my hometown. So cool!

Re: Kanoe baby hammock

Ooooh that is awesome!!! I wonder if it would work for those babies (like my DD) that will only sleep in a swing at first. Hmm!

I showed it to DH, and he's drooling too. This is good lol.

Re: Kanoe baby hammock

That looks different from those older, softer hammocks. I think the older ones were recalled... Anyone else have info on that?

Re: Kanoe baby hammock

Yes - I did unbelievable amounts of research on that today. The main difference between this one and the Amby hammocks that were recalled is that the Amby ones had a rigid mattress/pad in the bottom. What happened in the case of the two infants that suffocated was when the hammock rocked they rolled across the rigid bottom and became "trapped" up against the side of the hammock. The Kanoe does not have a rigid bottom and snugly holds the baby in place on its back - almost as if it was swaddled, so that it cannot roll or become trapped up against a side. I did notice in a few pictures that there appears to be just enough room beside the baby's faces that they can get their little arms up in the "touchdown" position that they seem to love so much!

DDC - the Amby was recalled in North America due to user error causing infant death. They are still in use in the rest of the world without a single issue (and have been used for over 20 years).

I was DYING for one of those for Poppy They were very backordered I ended up buying this:

We Even the big kids sit in it We like how versatile it is but I still think longingly of a Kanoe. Can't wait to see pics.

Ohhhhh I really like these, may have to talk to my husband about one. My older children would love that.
