Come Clean!

What is something you do while pregnant that you're "not supposed to" do while pregnant?

I'll go first. Once a week or so I have a Monster drink. The green kind. It says right on the can not intended for children, pregnant women, or those sensitive to caffeine. I usually drink half now and half later. I put it in a cup and sip it through a straw. I never drank them for the "rush" or "energy" I just really like the taste. Sweet and tart at the same time. Sipping it now.

What's yours?

With dd I would eat medium rare steak. I couldn't get enough of it. I normally like it medium well.

Re: Come Clean!

with my first DD, I drank a diet coke almost every single day. With my 2nd, I ate feta cheese in a wrap a couple of times a week, except I didn't nkow I shouldn't eat it, but I didn't drink nearly as much pop. I also rarely took a vitamin with either of them. I'm trying to with this pregnancy because my body has to be getting pretty drained. And I'll probably eat feta cheese just as frequently because I just love it and I'm willing to take the risk (although I honestly have no idea what the risk is....).

I drank RedBull when I was pregnant. I asked my high risk OB with #4 because I craved them. He said unless there's a warming not to worry about it. RedBull has 80mg of caffeine in a small 8oz can and 114mg in a medium 12oz can. 300mg is the max so I wasn't worried and my Drs weren't either. It actually helped with morning sickness! Lots of B6 & B12! :-)

I also ate medium rare streak. I can't eat it any other way!

I think Feta is safe if it's pasteurized which most commercial brands are. I felt bad eating Brie once and then I found out that US made cheeses are safe. Yummy!

Coffee daily, lunch meat here and there, and I have a glass of wine about once a month. I also don't really restrict myself physically. I went sledding over the weekend, and operated a heavy snowblower too.

I have a cup of caffinated chai tea about every morning (after the 1st trimester)
I eat feta, lunch meat (though I do warm it) and sushi
I still take hot baths/showers
I lay on my back for short stints while sleeping

Re: Come Clean!

Lunch meats, unpastuerized (sp?) cheese, medium rare steaks, sweet tea almost daily, bumpy boat rides, tuna, and I'm pretty sure my last tattoo I got was when I was newly pregnant with DD1 (clean, reputable place that did my other 7).

Oh, slept on my back, that's another one.

I drink at least 2 cups of coffee a day. I'm drinking one right now.
Lunch meat whenever I feel like it.
I'm terrible about remembering to take vitamins. I might remember twice a week. Maybe. On a good week.
I sleep on my back for about half the night.
I lift things and just generally don't really restrict any kind of activity.
I paint, and I'm too cheap for the low/zero VOC stuff most of the time.
If someone offers me a glass of whine and it sounds good to me at the moment, I drink it.
I eat hot dogs.
I'm having sushi for dinner tonight.
I go on a trampoline about once a month.

In general, I think most of the restrictions placed on pregnant women are positively ridiculous so I don't put much stock in any of them.
