My six year old (almost 7) is fully vaxed. He's healthy and happy.

Re: Give me good stories about vaccinations

My 5-month old son has received all of his vaccinations to date and is healthy. He has never had any reaction to the vaccines.

He cries when he gets the shot, but is often smiling again by the time the nurse puts a bandaid on him.

Re: Give me good stories about vaccinations

All 3 of mine, 3 and under, are up to date on their vaccinations. We've never had an issue and all 3 have reached milestones on target. Good luck!

Re: Give me good stories about vaccinations

DD is 22 mos, fully vaxed on schedule, doesn't have much of anything for side-effects. I don't know that it's a "good" story...there is no story, really. She's very healthy. She's had a couple of little colds, but has still never been on abx, never had an ear infection, really nothing remarkable. Just this last week, she was on prednisone for 2 days for croup, but I was already sick. She's precocious, but not super advanced. She's big & at the early end of the spectrum for motor stuff, normal to slightly advanced for verbal. She plays all day, loves Dora, Blue's Clues, & the Fresh Beat Band, loves pink frilly stuff, and wanted to play soccer at 8:00 this morning

Re: Give me good stories about vaccinations

Again, there's no story here, but my 22 month old DS is up to date on his vaccinations and has never had a problem with them.

I think a very telling story of vaccination success is the polio story. My dad, along with many children in the early 1950s, contracted polio. He was completely paralyzed for a year, had 34 surgeries in his first 17 years to finally allow him to walk, and is now, (60 years later) experiencing rapid muscle tissue death that will ultimately kill him (he won't be able to breathe and/or his heart will stop.) Thanks to vaccination, no children in North America have to go through that, and parents don't have to worry about it anymore. Just last week, it was announced that polio has been eradicated in India as a result of vaccination. The same can be said for smallpox and a host of other dangerous diseases.

My 3 have all been fully vaxed. Ds2 had a reaction to the Dtap when he was 4 that caused his upper arm to swell and be very red, hard and hot. We have since learned he has multiple allergies to different things including some preservatives.

BOth my girls are fully vaxed. DD1 had some side effects(slight fever, soreness, cranky ect) while dd2's only issue was that she wanted to sit up lol They are both really bright healthy girls.

Re: Give me good stories about vaccinations

I vaxed my son on schedule and we've had no issues! We did delay the Hep B shot I believe, but he got it and is fine. He's only ran a fever once the day after he got his 6 month shots. He's a fully healthy, ornery, awesome 15 month old

2 kiddos 4 and 15 months, both are fully vaxed on schedule. DD had physical delays but they were caused by allergy/diet not her shots- her delays were addressed along with her allergy/diet. Both are happy, healthy, smart and right on track developmentally now. DD is actually ahead cognitively.

Re: Give me good stories about vaccinations

My 3 year old DD has been vaxed on schedule. No problems or reactions other than some fussiness for a few hours afterwards. She is very healthy and has never really been sick other than a few colds. Millions of children are vaxed on schedule without reactions/problems, but you don't hear about those because that is what is "normal". It is because of the fact that most people are fully vaxed that herd immunity can protect those who are not vaxed.
