Acne whike BFing?
Any other mamas have issues with acne since starting BFing? My skin was awesome when I was pregnant, now it looks terrible! My dd is 13 weeks now and as of a month ago, my skin went crazy. Any once else have this issue or anyone have a solution? Thanks!

Ugh. Typing with one hand while nursing leads to typos. Sorry for misspelling while in the title!

I've had pretty bad acne since my LO was born but I don't know if it's hormone related or BFing related. I HATE it!

It may be postpartum hormone changes more than BFing, but both can mess with hair, skin, and nails for about a year after birth or as long as you BF. Hormones usually peak 6 months PP, then taper off. It should get better, but in the meantime, there are a lot of great natural options for acne (tea tree oil is an awesome spot treatment). HTH!

I know it sounds crazy but try putting a little expressed breastmilk on it. It works for me and for DD's baby acne.

The ONLY thing that's helped my ache is a tanning bed... I know it's not good for my skin overall and all the risks but I don't overdo it and mostly go in the winter. It clears up almost all of my acne literally within a few weeks of going.

Re: Acne whike BFing?
Same here.. its just ur hormones changing.. my hair is super greasy too ugh. You can try to put some of your breast milk on your acne a few times a day.. it should help pretty fast

Re: Acne whike BFing?
I had terrible acne after DS2. I have never in my life had acne until that time in my life. I did have alittle bit during the 1st tri of that pregnancy as well but after my chin was terrible. It lasted a good 4-5months. I related it to the hormones more than bfing. I feel your pain
