how do you store your yarn?

Pics wanted please

Here's I store mine, and I want a better way! Underneath the yarn I have how-to books, magazines, patterns, and DVDs. My needles, hooks, and accessories are in those pouches. The yarn and all my crochet and knitting hooks live in a box under DH's desk. I recently just learned how to crochet (yay!!) and am still learning how to knit, so I only have a few colors of inexpensive yarn to practice on, but soon I'll be getting nicer yarn and was wondering how to store all of it. I know my frien

Re: how do you store your yarn?

This is an out dated pic (its currently over stuffed with yarn ) but here is the general idea.

I got some shoe organizers from target and put them inside a dresser we had. All but one of the drawers holds yarn or supplies Each cubby holds about 4-5 skiens of yarn and currently each one is stuffed and then I have a massive stack on top of all my books on the left hand side.

More pics here

Ooh thanks! Love the shoe box idea I think I'm gonna try something like that.

I wanted to see more pics in your link, but I don't have a ravelry (sp?) account. Maybe I can get one when I finish learning how to knit.

Its a free site with tons of patterns and other people's projects. Its great for new knitters but can be a little overwhelming at first. I use it to keep notes on all my projects as well as keep track of my to do list and my stash. I really recommend it.

Re: how do you store your yarn?

I use wicker baskets, but I don't have nearly the amount as the pp. My knitting needles are in a large mason jar, and my supplies are kept in a bag because it's easier to have everything on hand when you are knitting on the go.

It's stuffed into an IKEA shelving unit with variegated scrps in a wicker bajet and solid scraps in a large acrylic cylindrical vase.

I use wicker baskets too, and plastic totes for yarn or scraps I won't be knitting for a while.
