Exercise and pregnancy, what did you change?

Did you change your routine, frequency, and/or intensity?

Did you change nothing?

Thanks

Re: Exercise and pregnancy, what did you change?

I don't change much of anything. With my first I had a gym membership and did step, swimming, spinning, and body pump (weights). I took a step away around 28-30 weeks and did slightly lower impact, depending on how I was feeling.

This time I haven't had the membership up until now- I have a 2 month one now, and I'm surprised at what I still feel comfortable doing at 32 weeks. I went to a kickboxing class last week and it was fine, even though I've been out of practice for 6 months and pregnant. This time I'm also doing prenatal yoga and prenatal swim.

Ya, I exercised more Haha, being pregnant always makes me motivated to stay healthy. The only things I'm aware of that needs to be changed is no sit ups/crunches, and no twisting poses in yoga. Keeping the intensity the same is ok, even jogging is ok as long as you did it regularly before pregnancy.

yeah, I didn't do sit-ups, and I stopped jogging after a bit, but that was mostly bc I peed myself if I jogged
This pregnancy, I haven't done much of anything though

I upped it from 4 days a week to everyday. I think in the whole pregnancy I missed 10 days.

So everyone seemed to continue with the same intensity for the most part?

Re: Exercise and pregnancy, what did you change?

I've backed off a bit...mostly due to m/s that won't go away! But went from running 5-6 miles 5days to running 2-3miles at a slower pace maybe 2-3days a week. I still do yoga, Zumba, and spin a few times a week too...depending on how I feel. I messed my knee up last week so am really missing the workouts. I love my spin class, so am hoping to keep that up as long as possible. Has anyone started swimming? I was thinking of trying that too.

There is a lady at my gym who goes so hard at it... It's a little awesome to watch her strength and determination.

Re: Exercise and pregnancy, what did you change?

I started taking hula dancing right before I got pregnant, I kept it up and just had my last class last week I only have about 2 weeks left before due date. If you can keep it up you will feel better during and after pregnancy.

I was working out intensely everyday except Sunday, but didn't have the same balance and ability around 20 weeks. I still was at 4-5 days, but a notch down and by thread trimester less intense.
