Re: Exercise and pregnancy, what did you change?

I was doing P90X. Then I succumbed to morning, day, and night sickness and stopped all exercise. Finally about 26weeks pregnant I began exercising again, and at that point there's no way, no how to do P90X, so I switched to 10 Minute Trainer once or twice daily.

Re: Exercise and pregnancy, what did you change?

I didn't reduce anything intentionally, proactively, other than sports that risked abdominal impact. All day "morning" sickness all of first and second trimester made it hard to get to the gym, so I did more walking (where talking to DH helped distract me) and less weights. I had to cut my 4 mile walk down to 2-3 in the last month or so, for my back and my feet, and slow down the speed as well as locate it closer to a bathroom (ie the mall rather than the depths of the woods), but I was still definitely getting good exercise right up until the end. Which was good when I walked for hours/miles my first day of labor....

Re: Exercise and pregnancy, what did you change?

I exercised throughout both pregnancies. Just continued on with my regular routine and as I got bigger I think I naturally just adjusted things as my body needed. I got loads of comments from the older folks at the gym. Many were very supportive though. Only one lady, a trainer actually, questioned if I should be working out like I did.

Re: Exercise and pregnancy, what did you change?

I was doing squats and speed walking before pregnancy. I tried keeping it up but I was sick for the entire first four months. I walked a lot during the second trimester but my reflux has gotten so bad it's hard to eat and sleep. My body is always sore and tight right now so I'm just doing stretches and walking. I can't wait to get back on my machine, though. I have the Total Gym and I love it.
