Re: Any one started of decided on their newbie stash?

we're going to get 3 dozen small imagine prefolds to use with about 7 or 8 thirsties size 1 covers. I just don't think I'll have a baby smaller than 7 pounds. No one in my family has managed that unless they had 2 at once and the singletons were all at least 8 pounds. I'm mentally preparing for a 9 pounder. After prefolds I'm moving over to a variety of pockets (kawaiis, fuzzibunz elite, BG 4.0, rumparooz). I just hope baby will still be able to use the covers when we go to Hawaii to visit family at 2 mo old because I'm planning on arranging for a diaper service to provide prefolds while we're there for 2 wks. I just don't want to think about learning a new wash routine for the short time we'll be there. None of my family or friends there use CDs so can't really provide any guidance with washing them (they have hard water compared to our very soft water and my parents have a FL while we have a TL). And I would prefer to use cloth while there rather than sposies though we'll likely need to use them on the flights to and from.
What are the more "natural" sposies that are available?

We will be using the same thing we use for our 20m old.

2dz organic gmd flats
lots of snappi's
12 xs gen-y cover's
12 s gen-y cover's
When my dye gets here we will be dying the flats.

I plan on doing flats, too, for the most part. I'm totally new to CDing a newborn, but I used and liked flats with DD2.

How do Gen-Y covers do with the umbilical stump???

7th Generation is the one I hear of most often. Never tried them myself.

We use lots of wool so I have roughly 25 girly colorways and 10 boyish ones all on woolie bases that will start being knit next month once we find out the gender. I plan on knitting most of the winter stash this summer as well since I am not sure how much knitting time I will have once school (we homeschool) starts up again in August. I can't wait to start knitting tiny things again after knitting for my huge 2 year old and sweaters for my 5 and 7 year olds.
Wow! Jealous of your wool. Really wish I could knit. Hoping my SIL will do some stuff for me if I start buying her some wool.

I'm using the same as I used with my DS who used cloth since birth and in the hospital.

Preemie prefolds snappied with no cover in the hospital.
Thirsties Duo size 1 cover for the ride home.

KL0's, BG XS bamboo fitteds and prefolds with above cover at home. We have a few BG 3.0 XS AIOs that just leaked like they were laminated, so unless this baby is shaped just the right way for those dumb things we won't be using them.

Then by the time babe is growing out of preemie prefolds, KLOs and fitteds the SunBaby 4.0s that make up my regular stash should fit. We went straight from the above newbie stash to BG 3.0s which are sized larger with my son, so no worries.

So, my newbie stash is this:

24 preemie prefolds
7 KLO's
3 XS BG bamboo fitteds
3 XS BG 3.0 AIOs (probably wont be used)
3 thirsties duo wraps size 1

Regular stash for two is this:
50 SunBaby 4.0s
65 Inserts

Both stashes share about 80 cloth wipes that are either made by me, bought used from friends, or baby washcloths. Mostly double layer flannel or OBV/flannel.

Sent from my iPhone. Autocorrect hates me.

Re: Any one started of decided on their newbie stash?

I just started thinking about mine. I didn't CD the twins until they were a few weeks old and I just put them in BG OS. I am thinking this time I will invest in some BG XS AIO's and GM Newborn diapers and thirsty covers. I tend to have long skinny babies so I think I can get away with smaller diapers for longer. I plan on starting to buy some GN pieces soon but I will put off the bulk of my purchasing until 1)I know the gender and 2) I find out when I am moving. =)

Re: Any one started of decided on their newbie stash?

I'm done with mine - I think I got kind of excited to start buying fluff again!

Remember this is for TWO! (and I have a tendency to overbuy! )

20 Happy Heiny mini's (only good up until 6 pounds - hoping I many not even need them!)
31 XS BG AIO's
16 NB Grovia AIO's
3 NB Nana Bottoms

23 newborn prefolds
15 preemie size newborns

8 NB bummis covers
2 sz 1 thirsties covers
5 NB proraps
5 XS thirsties (but these will be for transitioning to smalls, as they seem so big!)
8 "other" covers (dappi pull ons, litewraps, imse vimse)

15 newborn fitteds (mutts, little boppers, tush, sweetiebums, etc)

XS and Small interlock soakers & some skirties - maybe 6 total?

A lot of these I had from when DD was in diapers. I didn't start cloth with her until she was 3 months old, but when I saw good deals I bought them. All of the AIO's however have been purchased since Black Friday. I am not allowing myself to buy anything else. If I find out we are having two girls I can see myself going nuts and buying more or trying to trade out my boy / gender neutral diapers. I so hope we get one of each so I can be DONE!

I already have a large small size stash, plenty of one size diapers, lots of medium covers and a stupid amount of prefolds and flats. So glad I saved them though!

Wow ladies! We are on top of it....lol

I just scored a dozen NEW and prepped GMD orange edge pfs for $24ppd!!! Yay, what a deal! So that brings me up to 2 dozen pfs now.
I am debating on the Kawaii newborn bamboo pockets....anyone else? They are just so cheap! If you buy the dozen package they are even cheaper than any cover.

I'm really thinking of getting fleece soakers for the newborn. I only have experience with wool, but am thinking fleece may be easier (and cheaper) for those first weeks. Anyone else use/like fleece?
