Question How can I make this fit better at night?

So I'm experimenting with some nighttime options for my hard-to-fit little girl. She is about 2 months old, only 9lbs, short, but chunky. And she is a SUPER heavy wetter! I have found that adding a thirsties boost really helps at night. However, when I lay it in, it adds just enough bulk to the diaper that I can't get a good fit around her legs...it leaves a gap. Last night I put a thirsties doubler in a BG Freetime. Even though there were gaps in the legs, I didn't know what else to do, so I tried it. She *almost* didn't leak through, but was on her side this am and it came out the leg.

I have also experimented with itti bitti tuttos, with all 3 inserts in. I can usually get it to where it won't leak, but I have to make the belly really tight so there aren't any leg gaps, which ends up being a bit too tight on her belly.

Any suggestions on how I can get a better fit around the legs with the added bulk? We also have BGEs...would those maybe work better with the doublers?

I'd definitely give the BGE's a shot. You mentioned you were adding the Thirsties booster in the Freetime, but gave the impression you tried it in another diaper as well. What is the other diaper combo?

I know this may sound stupid, but what makes you think that it's too tight around her waist? Is she getting a red mark?

Do you have any prefolds?

In the past I added it to a fitted, with another booster, as well, and a fleece liner on top. THen I put a wool cover over. However, her fitteds are too small to add anything now, and the wool cover is too small to go over all that bulk even if the fitted did work. Wool is just so expensive I'm not buying anymore right now.

I've also added the thirsties to another aio I had before...can't even remember. But it did the same thing with the leg gap.

As far as the tutto being too tight, well, I have to man-handle the diaper (and her!) to get it snapped on the tightest possible snap without crushing her and she cries when I do (and then it leaves red marks)

But yes, I do have prefolds

Maybe try a fleece soaker or pants instead of wool?

I haven't had good luck getting fleece soakers to fit. I've bought them and they're always so tight and stiff, even though they're in the correct size range for my baby.

Have you ever tried a side snap diaper? They allow you to adjust the waist and legs differently

We've always had good luck with simple fleece pants from Old Navy or Target.

I've done fleece pants from target, over the diaper, but she often wakes with the waist being all wet.
