Do you have to schedule a pick up or can you just leave it out for the post man? I'm trying to avoid going to the post office with a newborn....

I just leave it at the mailbox

We don't have a mailbox at our house so if Im not shipping a priority item them we get in the car and go to drop box...if I have a priority item to ship then I schedule a pickup

I usually just leave it out in the mailbox or if I am out running errands I will drop it in a drop box if it's not too heavy (over 13 oz). Don't blame you for not wanting to drag the newborn to the PO...it's worse than the DMV sometimes!

If it fits in my mailbox, I just put it in there with the flag up. Otherwise there is a drop box 2 blocks from my house with a later pickup.

I think it depends on your postman. One of mine will take anything gladly at any time... the other only does if I schedule it.

If I remember to, I schedule a pickup. If not, I try to catch him during his rounds in my neighborhood...if none of that works out, I trudge to the PO but they have a drop box.

I've always leave them in the mailbox. I don't put the flag up though because I'm afraid it will attract thieves.

Good point, our mail delivery is really consistent so I get it out there right before he gets there.

can you schedule a pickup for items that aren't in usps boxes? like stuff in polymailers that are first class or parcel post? We have a bank of mailboxes at the beginning of our street for everyone, each house has their own incoming box...and then there's teeny tiny slots for outgoing mail that everyone shares, but they're only big enough to fit a standard size envelope in. Right now I'm driving across town to drop polymailer packages in a big drop box, but if I could schedule pickups for those, that would be awesome
