Re: I'm a thread killer!
Thank you Kris! Boy, you are really getting some results with the ban. It's sad. I don't have any advice with the behavior problems. Nothing we do with William helps and Cayden talks back (or tries to) like a tean-age girl would. Drives us bonkers. Then whines when things don't go his way. Now, because he had the surgery, he thinks it's a free for all! Been so crazy here! We got the chicks yesterday and they are keeping me going. Along with the garden and coop today. Boy Cayden has been a handfull too. I need to hit the sack early tonight, gonna have another early start in the morning. Will hope to try and talk with you all soon!

Re: I'm a thread killer!
Teenage girl is a great descriptor. Dd even started playing us against each other. She's only 3 for crying out loud! This kid is going to be a nightmare teenager.
And thank you, although it has been multiple cities and different legislations ranging from outright bans to muzzle laws. All ends of the spectrum. It's not that I'm against vicious dog laws. In fact I'm all for them as long as they cover all vicious dogs. case in point the Maryland supreme court just passed a ruling this week enforcing strict liability on owners of pit bulls and their landlords. Basically what this means is that if you own a pit bull and it bites someone for the first time you are held strictly liable for all damages. Not only that but if you are a renter no matter how far off the property the bite occured your landlord would also be held strictly liable. Now, strict liability is not a bad thing though the landlord liability is insanity and most states are strict liability states. Especially since victims of dog attacks often require expensive medical care and often times plastic surgery. However, Maryland is not a strict liability state. And what that means is that all other breeds and types of dog get "one free bite" so if you or your child gets bit by say a chow who has not bit before, well, SOL since it was the first time unless you lie and say it was a pit then your bills are completely covered. The reports of "pit bull" attacks will rise because of this. Which will evitably lead to an attempt at a ban. Slippery slope meet your best friend the reactionary. We also expect to see large numbers of animals anandoned or surrendered because of this ruling since people will likely not realize that they cannot be evicted if they have a yearly lease in a place that has no restrictions on the kind of dog renters can have. It's bloody tiring trying to get people to see that all dog OWNERS need to be responsible but it helps when I get that one email saying I have helped to change a mind. The Cincinati repeal is garnering opposition so the more committee members on board the better.

Audrey was last year's spring baby and only 5 ounces smaller so I have everything and even it the right season.I'm glad the package arrived. Ya the pink was funny. DH accidentally threw out the brown paper I was saving. I wanted to get the box off and pink is the only colour paper the boys don't want to use for school so I have loads of it.

Re: I'm a thread killer!
Hi everyone.
We are doing good - but busy as always. We "slept through the night" last night. By that I mean she ate at midnight, 4, and 8 am and went right back to sleep when not eating. THAT was amazing. She is jaundice a bit but wakes and eats REALLY well - my best nurser yet so I am not really worried about it - all my kiddos have been a little yellow. I am a bit sore still but ok. I feel good - just sore. I had a bit of a post partum break down last night though. Dh informed me that his boss and wife were going to "stop by and see the baby". Allison wasn't even 36 hours old! His boss had never been to our house - and although not super messy it needed work. My mom cleared clutter while I swept, srubbed bathrooms and mopped - 3000 sq feet of house which hadn't been taken care of for three days since DH couldn't keep up. Dh mowed the lawn and had the kids cleaning and working on the yard. I broke down in MASSIVE tears, my mom was limping through the house on her bad leg and I had massive pain (which is why I am sore today). I am STILL upset at DH for doing that to me. I actually had him cancel but then fealt so guilty that I phoned the boss back and made an excuse that I was "tired" but feeling fine now - well that was after DH got VERY upset at me for cancelling. It was an akward position for him - he gets paid A LOT and didn't want to offend his boss. But REALLY who invites themself to someone house who JUST had a baby???? Anyway - sorry I am ranting DH and I are still fighting a bit today - it's hormones for me and stupid husband syndrome for him. He does things like this every time I have a baby - forgets that I can't just jump up and keep going as normal. Thank goodness I didn't need that C!

Whey the HE** isn't this rule for all breeds for the first bite? So dogs get a free first bite? WTH? It's just holding the owner responsible right, not putting the dog down? I believe the owner should be held responsible, but that's for any breed. Who came up with this kind of crap? And why the heck arn't chihwahwahs one of the vishious dogs, size. They are the most nippy breed I have ever come across! You're doing great things sweetie. I'm proud of you! ![]() Quote:
Too cute!Quote:
Hope you two make up soon. I compleatly understand why you are so irritated. DH's family does this to us ALL the time. Just last night they popped by at 8pm! DH knew an hr ahead and didn't tell me. The house was messy, like always because they never call. I like to straighted up before we have company, kwim. We have been run ragged this week and I want the place clean before people come by! They all did it the day Cayden got home from the hossy Sun too! Wewere soooooooooooo dang tired! I had so much luggage to put away. I wanted to rip my hair out. I ignored it because they were so excited to see Cayden ok. I kinda understood. They could have gave us an hour to rest first though. Especially with a 2 hr drive. Hey, how is your moma? I was worried about her, bless her poor heart.

Re: I'm a thread killer!
Oh yeah, boxers are a "bully breed" and considered a "pit bull type" in many areas. Most places with a bully bias include boxers but not all. Anyone who has a dog or loves a dog should be aware of this stuff but time and time again I hear that exact phrase you just said "WTH (insert breed here)?" I actually just sent a ton of links to a member on here because she posted about just getting one of the top three restricted breeds, not a pit though, and the reaction was the same with an added "I knew about pitbulls but (insert breed)? Really?". With her permission of course, lol, I didn't just spam her
though there are times when I really feel like doing just that. For example someone posted about a pit bull attack in that dog attack baby thread and I know the circumstances of the attack she posted about. The pit, 12 weeks old was put down, another dog did the exact damage to another child three days later and got a pass. It was determined the dog was behaving naturally! That one didn't make the news though. Yep, I'm officially a zealot!

Re: I'm a thread killer!
Idiocy (sp?), dang idiots. Prob people passing laws that have no clue about dogs and have never been with these breeds to know it's owner who mainly determines owtcomes here! What is the guy we all studied about in school that argued enviroment vs. inherentness, or something simular. I so agree with his findings. It is so true with dogs. The theory was more for children, but it really applies to dogs imo! Do you know who I'm talking about? I tried to google it with no luck. I bet I could look in DH's A&P book.
Hey, Melissa says hello! He's haveingsome post-labour issues that have her is pain. She may be mia for a little while, but wanted to say hi. The baby is already gaining weight! She still has jaundice, but is feeding so well that it should clear up soon. Talk with ya soon!
