Really discouraged...how could this be?!

i only lost 10- 12 lbs right off the bat with the two girls. i'm like you- i don't lose quickly while bfing, i have to watch it. i hung on to 5 lbs the entire two years if bf'd dd2, and it had finally come off when i got pregnant again and instantly started gaining again. i was mad! lol. it's a total psychological thing with me. something turns on in the back of my head that says "im pg/ bfing, so it's ok for me to pig out" ... so i do, but as soon as i'm back to my normal self with nothing attached to or growing inside of me my eating habits go back to normal. i'm anxious this time to lose weight before summer. i hope it comes off quick.

Yea- I was down only 10 pounds at first. . .then the night sweats started. Now I'm at the point where I just need to make sure the scale doesn't go up cause I've lost all the extra liquid weight and now have to work on the fat, which takes forever

This is why I haven't stepped on the scale this time. I gained 38 with Z and 40 with N and A. With Z, I hung on to the last 10 forever... and gained 5 on top of that before getting pregnant with N. With N, I lost 28 off the bat, but I also lost a LOT of fluid during delivery. I hung on to the last 8 I had gained with him until he weaned, and then I lost the additional 15 I had hung onto with Z as well (it was a stressful time for us as we just moved and I was starting my first semester enrolled in two universities).

DDC.. I normally drop 30# when I go back for my 6wk pp visit.. I weighed one time right after my son was born, he was about 5 days old.. and it showed I had only lost 5lbs!!! I agree with what everyone else says, it takes time to get all the excess fluids and maternal stores etc out of you.. This time I refuse to look before my 6wk pp appointment... I am hopeful to lose that 30# again by then!

OMG I got those night sweats last night.. they are COLD sweat eh?! Wow I don't remember that at all.. I was SOAKED when I woke up!

I have been getting those too...

I am in the same boat... I was 115 lbs pre pregnancy and the day before delivering 152. 4 days after delivering I was 142...I was like WTF? I am hoping to be around 130 at my 6 week appointment...I will be happy with myself at 120 this time...

I have noticed that my hips are ENORMOUS! The pants I was able to wear in the postpartum period after my first pregnancy wont even go halfway up my legs...My hips have expanded so much!
