it's just I never see them IRL so kinda not sure what is suppose to look like. If I use buttons to attach the leg, the buttons are on the leg part right, not the shorties? And when you use them as a shorties, what do you do with the buttonholes? I know this is stupid questions, but I just imagining DS will play the button holes and stretch them out..

Re: Convertible longies pattern?
I do my own. The buttons go on the leg part. I normally just do an eyelet row but I have only made them for girls so its kinda lacy and girly.

Re: Convertible longies pattern?
The buttons are attached to the lower portion and I just do a YO for the button holes. You could always do a reinforced buttonhole. http://www.knittinghelp.com/video/play/buttonhole That might make it tougher.
