Ibuprofen and 26 weeks pregnant.

I REALLY REALLY just want one rx strength dose. I can hardly more my heck right now! I've tried heat, cold, message to the point of feeling bruised! Nothing is working!

I would try extra strength Tylenol first. I am completely against NSAIDS while pregnant, that being said, if the pain is that bad, and Tylenol won't help. Try one normal strength Ibuprofen.

yep, tried tylenol, it's a JOKE! Didn't even take a little pain away. My DD is currently sitting behind me using her feet to massage my upper back/shoulders!

Have you tried arnica? A chiropractor visit? You're probably out of alignment. mama, that stinks.

I know how you feel. I've never once noticed any reduction in pain after taking an OTC pain reliever- not in my entire life. Only exception being naproxen for reduction of swelling i (and even then, it was a prescription strength dose), which causes a reduction in joint pain.

I've had miserable back pain recently, but as OTCs are a joke for me I'm just sucking for the next few months.
:-(

Hang in there, mama!

Re: Ibuprofen and 26 weeks pregnant.

Something similar happened to me when i was not preggo. I woke up one morning in agony, couldnt move my neck at all. I wouldve died before a chiropractor or anyone touched me...the pain was insane. I went to the ER that same morning. I was given IV valium and went home and slept, woke up fine. It was strange but they said it was a common thing. Had to do with something called the "trapesium". its a muscle in the neck. Anyway, if that sounds like what you are dealing with--go to the doc. I would not take ibuprofen during pregnancy, particularly not a high dose. Not to mention it may not even help your pain. Ibuprofen didnt do it for me. I would see a doc.

Re: Ibuprofen and 26 weeks pregnant.

Please do NOT take ibuprofen you are to far along in your pregnancy. It can cause the BABY when it is BORN not to be able to BREATH it is NOT safe after 23 weeks gestation!!! So basically your baby could suffocate.
My ob is the one who informed me of this yrs ago.
