Lost Twin, Sack still growing?

Hi Ladies,

I was originally pregnant with fraternal twins. The heartbeat of the first stopped around 7 weeks. I am now 9 weeks pregnant with the remaining baby. The sac of the lost baby is continuing to grow--so it's the same size as the live baby's, but there's no baby inside it.

I'm wondering if this has happened to anyone else? And how did it play out? I am afraid of miscarrying (bleeding, cramping) the lost baby and losing the living one in the process. Feedback, reassurance and prayers all greatly appreciated!

Oh mama, so so sorry. We lost DD1's identical twin at 31 weeks and had to have an emergency C-section due to the shared placenta.

Are you seeing a specialist, such as a perinatalogist experienced in multiple pregnancies? They are a good resource. Never be afraid to ask questions!

Good luck!

If it helps any, we lost our baby Taylor's twin when I was 3 months pregnant and I was able to carry him until he was 34wks. I did have bleeding, clotting and placenta abruption but that is because I have blood clotting issues. He is almost 4 and is a happy healthy little boy. I hope everything works out for you and baby
