Re: Help with baby girl name based on a nickname?

Well, my daughter is Naya Catherine and I call her Roo a lot, just comes from calling her Pudge-a-roo. It's easily a nn that doesn't have to be remotely related to her real name. My pick for a formal name would be Ruby probably. But you could use tons... Rumor, Rudy, Ruth, Runa, Drue, etc.

We don't vaccinate, we kept our sons intact, we use cloth diapers, we co-sleep, we extended RF, we breastfeed, but we watch too much tv and I totally dig plastic! Everyone has their issues, lol.

Re: Help with baby girl name based on a nickname?

I like Ruby, but I think Rue sounds fine on its own, personally.

I just had to chime in, though, that my great- (or great-great-?) grandma and her twin sister were named Lela LeRue and Lola Marie, and Lela LeRue married--I'm not making this up--Irvin LeRoy.

Why not pick any name the two of you can agree on, and then he can just call her Rue as his special nickname for her? You know, something special because only daddy calls her that?

God bless!

Dd's best friend is Riley, and her nickname is also Roo for Riley Roo. Dd also has a classmate named Ruby Blue.

Re: Help with baby girl name based on a nickname?

What about putting Rue as the middle name? That's what we did with DD2 because DH wanted to call her Nikki but she didn't look like a Nikki to me so she's Hanna Nicole Marie (family names are middle names) and Nikki is an option.
Or:
True/Truly
Rhue (my great-grandmothers were twins - Ruth and Rhue)
