Anyone use on of those saliva ovulation gadgets???

Hey..

I have been using Ovulite this month along with a first round of Clomid (no side effects thank god....whoo hoo)...

Faithfully every morning, even before I pee, I use it...wait a bit for it to dry all the way and look and nothing.....just big ol infertile splotches..Until 2 days ago...Out of the blue, 100% total ferning like on the box, like they describe, like I've read about in the studies before I forked over the money for it....No ferning whatsoever the day before, not even a tad and none the next day..

No BDing that night bc DH came home from work early with food poisoning and spent the evening in the bathroom alternating btwn sitting and kneeling (and if he knew I was chatting about it he'd die of embarassment or kill me, or both..lmao).....so, we missed that window if indeed it was a window...ugh..

Anyone use them and have had the same thing happen only to have the ferning show up again a tad later in the same cycle????? We BD'd alot a few days before bc we were on vacay so maybe "they" were still hanging out waiting for the ol egg???

Thanks mamas!!!!

We want to skip July if we can bc dd is an April baby and so is 90% of his family and I went through all that you need to have her on so and so's birthday last go round and it drove me

I just thought I'd come in and answer since I've used the saliva thingies, but I'm not much help, LOL. I NEVER got ferning on mine. That is totally one thing I would not suggest using, LOL. I prefer OPKs over the saliva thingy - way too much work and too much of a chance of error. It's possible the ferning was off (a few days off of O or something) and you could still be pg. I don't know what to tell you, LOL - but I hate those things!

LOL..

I would sooo do the OPK kits but that money just isn't in the budget right now and I would obsess over them since I tend to be irregular sometimes...

So, I'll test soon and go from there...

I think when I was ttc I bought some kind of bulk kit from earlypregnancytests.com I think...LOL. That was the cheapest way, and I had TONS of pg tests to fill my poas urge, LOL. I had bought, like, 50 of them and then got my BFP. I had a good 47 I passed on to someone else who was ttc on Fertily Friend, LOL.
Good luck!!

You can satisfy your POAS urge and still not break the budget. Their prices are darn close to co-op prices too!

Re: Anyone use on of those saliva ovulation gadgets???

I did the saliva tests for a couple of months while ttc my DS. It worked just fine for me. But I had a stretch of ferning for like 4 days during a cycle. So it didn't pinpoint any particular day for me. I'd say it was about as helpful as tracking cm or counting days. I definitely found the OPK more helpful for narrowing down my day of ovulation to a 2 day window.

Good luck!

I used a saliva tester since I did artificial insemination to concieve.

I had visible ferning and was able to see a change over the course of my cycle. It is important not to rub the saliva on the lense as this could break the ferning.
It worked well for me and in the end it was the sign I relied on most - over OPK and testing cervical fluids and firmness
