See, I have a friend whose towels are super soft, but they do not get me dry, so I figured eventually the diapers would be the same, so I never tried it. I definitely would not use it on every wash, but I'm willing to try using it occasionally.

I use Method fabric softener on diapers. So squishy and yummy. I don't use it everytime though.
Next time, I'm trying seventh gen. I can't find ecover locally either.

Re: Holy Softness, Batman!

I love liquid Downy for my clothes...do you think that one would be a big no-no?

DO you have Safeway grocery stores? They have their own brand detergent called Green, and you can use their softener, its safe on cds. I forgot to mention i use it on my BGE's too, and don't have any repelling or absorbancy issues

I have only ever used Ecover on my diapers. I would be too afraid to use the regular stuff like Downy on my diapers. This thread is very interesting! :-)

I use Downy on clothes or everything comes out rough and stiff !

On the dipes I use Ecover, which I bought on iherb for like $5. I use it about every third walk. It makes them so soft, I can't even tell you. Prefolds, fitteds, all of it. I can't believe I had stiff diapers for so long.

Maybe it's this "natural" Downy that works, then? They literally feel like satin!

I would like to know whats in the natural downy- cause if it is CD safe- I'm in! It would be much easier to get than ecover!

It's not natural. It's just the "free and sensitive" version. If my migraine goes away, I'll look the ingredients up online.

Natural fibers don't usually repel like synthetic fibers do, though.
