Rant: buying NEW diapers

Warning Rant: So I am due in March and I have asked for used cloth diapers for my baby. I love used diapers cause stains don't bother me, used ones are cheaper, and am a lazy cloth diaperer, aka I just throw them in a hot wash with detergent, air dry, and reuse. I have been getting NEW cloth diapers in the mail. I'm so shocked cause now I have to prep and try not to get these diapers stained and stuff.
Am I just a crazy hormonal pregnant woman or does this make sense?

Why do you have to try to keep them from staining? Do you have to give them back?

Yeah to the crazy hormonal pregnancy!

I know its bothersome cos the dipes are new and dangit if there's poop stain the first time u put it on. But you know what...they are clean, fresh, you kid will be the first to stain it up. Since you dont care much if its stained or not, I'd say enjoy the new bums, if it gets stained...oh well, its the momma u pass it on to next..its her problem!

I not ever fully prep new dipes when I get them. One wash and they get worn. Sure, they might not catch as much pee because they aren't fully absorbent or whatever reason, but they will eventually eat prepped completely and I still get to enjoy them in the mean time...lol.

You're crazy and hormonal. I mean that in the nicest way. Accept the gift gratefully and use them with love and enjoy them. don't treat them differently than you would treat other diapers.

Love them and think great things about the people who cared enough to send you beautiful fluff rather than some useless toy.

Re: Rant: buying NEW diapers

Think of it this way... they are diapers. The people who bought them for you know that someone is going to be pooping in their gift. It's what happens

I got upset the first time my little guy stained my one and only precious goodmama. But then, it was stained and the next time he pooped in it, I totally didn't care LOL

I vote for hormonal. LOL. I would be ecstatic if I'd been given diapers as a gift. You don't have to worry about prior wear & tear or laundry issues, etc. If you develop problems with elastic, snaps, or whatever, you have a warranty & can get the diaper replaced. With used, unless you are able to repair it yourself, you're just out of luck. Just relax & enjoy your new diapers! It really was a very thoughtful gift.

Re: Rant: buying NEW diapers

Do the people who are gifting to you even know where to obtain used diapers? Or how to know if they are "good" used diapers or a bad deal? Maybe they saw the prices of used and just didn't think it was worth it? Maybe they feel bad giving used things as gifts whether the person requested it or not.

Crazy hormonal is my vote. Though it is COMPLETELY understandable.

Be happy you got DIAPERS and not something totally useless.
