My fave is cestari both for woolies and sweaters because it is thick and sturdy. Pilling annoys me, I always want DD's stuff to be looking new. Cestari does not pill as much as other yarn base. It is best to handwash hand dyed yarns, even superwash because the colors will fade in the machine. I prefer cestari over superwash because the the later pill more.

Kaysie custom dyes yarn for less. You can also get cestari in a coop for the same price as purewool but less the wait because Cestari is in the Virginia.
