Weeky Chat 1/29-2/5

Saw we were a little overdue(winkwink) on the new thread for the week!

I hopped on FB last night and you ladies were chatting up a storm! i didn't even realize you could do that!! I just read a little and didnt think to hop in the conversation

On last weeks thread, someone was complaining about growing pains and man, the last 3 days i've been so achy in my uterus. i've definitely popped, but i can totally feel it! i get the stabbing pains when i twist at night and the achiness when i stand or stretch too long. Ugh. Todays been better, but i think i'm starting to feel peanut a little more. i have for weeks, mostly pokes and flutters, but last 2 days have been almost whole body twists and shoves! this is my favorite time of pregnancy!!!

also started dave ramsey a few weeeks ago, so this week we offically start our budgeting. thankfully we're already debt free(minus those darn medical bills for the ultrasounds but those are paid off once we get our refund) but we always spend what we earn, so not much savings. so no baby buying for a couple months..booo!!

I know I should hold off on buying baby clothes till after my baby shower but I can't help it! Target has tons of baby stuff on sale this week! So I picked up a few cute clothes I haven't been feeling my little boy except once I hope to feel him a lot more soon!

Re: Weeky Chat 1/29-2/5

MIL and I went to BRU today to trade in a car seat I got from a coworker (She was going to donate it to goodwill but it was expired) and got the chicco keyfit 30 magic seat for 25% off. yay! Then she went down each aisle enjoying seeing all the fun baby stuff. I pointed out to her which pacifiers we plan to use if baby will take them and also showed her a few things we already had on the registry and explained to her which things we're skipping out on and why. She's pretty respectful of our wishes so very happy about that. I did say to her that she may want to consider a small portable swing for when she watches the baby and showed her the one DH and I considered getting (we're opting for the duo swing/bouncer instead) and she bought it today. I tried to tell her to wait but she didn't want to forget which one it was and bought it anyway. She also bought the high chair cover for the wooden chair she's giving us (DH and BIL used it as babies). Then she picked up a set of receiving blankets. I had to stop her from buying more stuff. She was getting really into it. DH laughed when I told him about the trip and he said she may start nesting more than we are. This is her first grandchild so I'm not too surprised she's really excited but wasn't expecting her to buy anything but the seat today (her gift to us).
Oh and DH and I are now signed up for our hypnobirthing class. I'm pretty excited to learn more about this and start practicing the methods. It should help me relax in other situations too. I get anxious going to the doctor, even though I'm a doctor myself, thanks to a horrible pediatric specialist I had to see regularly growing up. My regular pediatrician felt he was the best in the state and really wanted us to keep going there. Well, because of this, I end up having high blood pressure at my visits. It's not too high - 120s/70s - but higher than what my OB wants to see. I did tell him that I have white coat hypertension and that my BP is in the 90-100s /60s at home and at work (I've had the medical assistants check me out of curiosity). I think he does trust me to report to him when my BP is high at home as well. As much as preeclampsia would suck in terms of more testing and possibly early induction, I'm not stupid enough to withhold that info from him to avoid all that. So, I'm really hoping this can help me calm myself down so I look normal at future visits.

The only pacifiers any of my kids would take are the dang MaM ones. I hate them because they are expensive and my kids wouldnt take the other 500 we had tried. Oh ya and only the ones with silicone nipples no latex for them. So strange they all have the same preference.

i know you weren't asking me but i got a few of these because they're pure rubber and no plastics or plastic softeners(bpa and the like) not sure baby will take them, they seem very similar to those weird blue ones i always see. i think the MaM are way cuter and often see babies with those, hoping my peanut will take these though!

Had my doc apt today. I am 14 weeks 6 days and they tried for 10 min to find a heartbeat with the Doppler and couldn't so the doc measured me again and made me stay till I could do an U/S. I was really freaking out. We did the u/s and everything looks great. I call in the morning to make my "20" week u/s, I am doing mine at 18 1/2 weeks. Cannot wait.

Good luck with the blood pressure! I too have to go through that in pregnancy. We were told we are not going past 38 weeks and maybe earlier. Do not mess around with it. Just friendly preggo advice, LOL. Did I miss why they think it maybe early pre-eclampsia? I hope all is well.
