How much do you pay for pastured dairy/eggs?

How much do you pay for the following, what store do you buy it from (or do you go to farm?) and what state are you in?

Pastured Chicken Eggs per/dozen

Pastured Milk per/gallon (not raw)

Half & Half

Cream?

Butter?

I was at Whole Paycheck (WF) yesterday checking out some of the prices and I almost fainted... They wanted $8/doz for eggs. I know it would be cheaper to go with a farm, but I am having trouble finding one with grass fed cows and pasteurized milk. I don't want to debate about raw vs pasteurized. We won't do Raw for personal reasons.

If you wanted you could always pasturize it at home. I saw someone do it on a cooking show once. I don't buy any of that but I read this and thought it might be an option if you couldn't find a dairy that does their own pasteurization

Re: How much do you pay for pastured dairy/eggs?

THe organic, pastured eggs around here are around $4-$6 a doz depending on what specifics you are looking for in how they are raised/fed and what store/brand you get. Raw milk (I know you said no raw, but if you want to pasturize your own) seems to be around $8-$10 a gallon after the share fees depending on who you go with. Have you looked into Azure Standard? They probably offer something if they deliver in your area and you can look up the prices online if you register your name.

I pay $2/dozen for pastured chicken eggs from a Mennonite student in our school.

Pastured eggs here are $4 per HALF doz. at Whole Foods. It's the only place I've found them.
I can't find pastured dairy that I know of.
My daughter vomits when she drinks pasteurized milk, so we don't buy milk unless I am making yogurt with it. It's not legal to sell raw cow's milk here.
Pastured/cultured butter is $4/lb at WF.

Re: How much do you pay for pastured dairy/eggs?

I can get pasteurized milk from grass-fed cows for $3 per half gallon (plus $2 glass bottle deposit). I mostly get raw @ $10 gallon with shipping, but if I run out before the next delivery I buy that because they have one that is non-homogenized (which is my main issue with most store bought milk). I get it at Kroger. Eggs are around $4 dozen for store bought pastured eggs (I think, it's been a while since I have bought them). We have 8 chickens that free range most of the day, so I don't buy eggs.

Pastured eggs from a farm are $2.50/doz if you buy 4 doz-which we do. I can get raw milk for $4/gallon if I so choose. We have local milk delivered though.

Re: How much do you pay for pastured dairy/eggs?

$7 per doz from the farmers market. Or a tray of 2 1/2 doz for $15.

Butter - 250gm/8.8 oz - $2.50 for NZ butter which is always pastured. The same for Australian organic butter costs $ 4.50.
